😂 I am watching this a month after you posted….. I have a regular Editor’s Pick and have had a similar experience. It sits in its box. i have lastly used a hair straightener and still am not happy with it. Oh, I will take her out once in a while to attempt to make it wearable. I plan next to take thinning shears to it. 🤣

@@ThinkerLady I don’t think they’re making them as dense anymore. I traded mine with another wig wearer and she loved the density of it and said she’s had several that weren’t dense at all. So, I may try getting a new one in the hopes that they’ve changed the engineering on this style. Doing a wig sway or selling on the Facebook groups is always a good idea if you think it’s worth more to someone else than to you especially after chopping it up lol But I’m all for making our wigs our own so, I wish you great luck:) Thanks for sharing your experience. Nice to know I’m not alone:) And thanks for being here!

Josie...my lace front Ignite is polking my skin as you talked about. Can I use like...Vasaline to soften the lace. I've tried different positions as you suggested, but is still stiff. Any suggestions? Thanks Julie
@agingintobeauty
@agingintobeauty 3 күн бұрын
@@julieannmahoney I’m sorry to hear that. I know how uncomfortable that can be. Without a live conference or several pics, it’s hard to say if there is a problem with the cap or the fit. I can tell you that the lace is a plastic fabric and the only thing that will soften it is heat. Heat will melt the lace and restructure it. If you take a warm hair dryer to it, while wearing it, you might be able to get it to adjust but you’d have to be extremely careful not to melt the hair fibers. And you would have to wear until it’s completely cool and set solid again. I’m not sure if you could get it hot enough without being too hot for your skin. There’s also a possibility you could cut it and stitch the edges to fit but i wouldn’t risk that unless I knew it was a construction issue;) If you want to do a live consultation, I have a 15 minute fix available on my website AgingIntoBeauty.net I hope you find a solution. Thank you for being here.

Thank you very much for this information. I am wearing a average cap by Jon Renau. I love Jon Renau wigs. It does ride up. The rest of my measurements are petite or smaller. I measured the cap after I made the adjustments to fit my head it is 20.5. Not 21.2 inches, as I have measured for circumference. It doesn't ride up. So I guess I will be looking for a petite size. In the meantime I will sew up my 4 average wigs. Am I thinking correctly?
@agingintobeauty
@agingintobeauty 7 күн бұрын
@@karenbaldwin2325 Not sure if I understand completely but if the wig is too tight, it will definitely ride up. A wig should not grip too tight. If it’s pulled down too low and onto the neck, it isn’t “riding up” it’s finding the skull. If it’s slipping up the middle of your head, then that is truly riding up. If you’ve pulled the adjusters in all the way and the wig slips around when you shake your head, then it is definitely too big around the circumference. If it fits around the cap but you have a loose pocket like an empty pouch then you are an avg petite. A petite may fit but could be too small too. Unfortunately, it takes some trial and error. I have made my average caps work but I’m going to order some petites and test that out too;) Please let me know what works for you. We’re all trying to figure out the perfect fit:)

Thanks for answering. My measurements are ear to ear 11 inch. Temple to Temple 12 inch Front to back 12 inch Round back 13 Circumstance 21.2 I believe it is big for me. After I sew 5 wefts together and put clips in it it is comfortable not tight at all. It sits at the base of the skull. By the way I bought wig clips with safety pins so I can take them out and put in another wig. Amazon. I will keep you posted when I buy a petite. Thanks again

36 years in wigs, PY, and I had never heard this before, thank you! I will do some playing with it today and see if this helps. My head is long and the "riding up" has ALWAYS been an issue!
