How much for the plane
@garymyers6638
@garymyers6638 Ай бұрын
about 3.5 m depending upon options and scheduled review status and annuals. And pilots cost by the year or by the ride unless you have the type rating.

Hey Erin, haven’t seen you in a while! Just had an eclipsejet lock his wheel up and was throttling up trying to get it back straight and it almost didn’t. Came to google the nose wheel setup and found your video which explained this could happen if improperly done. Great video! Stop by DTS again soon.

More efficient than the PC-12... that fact should just void all turboprop planes forever. With a small caveat of thrust reversal but that can be done with jets too. PC-12 is a bigger plane but it burns around 67GPH at 267ktas while Eclipse can do 330ktas at 48GPH. Speed considering it's about twice as fuel efficient as a PC-12. You could fly 2 Eclipses the same distance as one PC-12 and it's not twice as big as an Eclipse. It just goes to show that GA has been sleeping on the job for 60 years because the Eclipse could have been done in 1960. Indeed better could have been done in 1960.

Thanks for sharing the insights. I agree that the Eclipse is the epitome of economy, innovation and ease of flying. It is my next upgrade if business continues to thrive. Keep pressing forward and stay safe!! Cheers!

Yah it's interesting, half the weight of a phenom 100. But it can just be much better still and I learned from a PW sales rep that the engines are 911k each. Which is just a robbery. They are the smallest turbofan engines around yet rounded off to an even million when they should cost less than 1/10 of that. Jet engines are actually quite simple and the smaller they are the easier for the material to hold. A turbo for a car might be 300 dollars retail and it's the same inconel material for the turbine wheel. Eclipse is about 1600kg but make the fuselage as a single piece carbon fiber shell it can be much lighter still which means much smaller engines and skinnier wings and everything becomes easier. There is no reason that a twin jet couldn't be half price of a Cirrus SR22T. With better fuel efficiency going double speed at 4x the altitude. What Eclipse should have done when douche PW decided to be greedy with their price and destroy Eclipse and their own sales in the process was to make their own engines. It's not that hard and the upside is huge. The engine makers are the main problem in GA.

Great video! This is a question out of my own ignorance, not a judgement so please don't attack me for asking - haha. Will Avio Avionics continue to support and upgrade the avionics? Avio is a pretty solid company but like any company answering to boards and shareholders, they need to justify expenses on any and all profit centers. For people thinking of purchasing this incredibly cool little jet, it is likely not a deal killer but a legitimate concern.

How does the Avio Avionics compare with Garmin?
@rickdc3
@rickdc3 Жыл бұрын
For me, the Avio in more intuitive for most things. The only thing I miss from the G3000 is fully automated VNAV, and the higher quality map on the MFD. VNAV in the Avio will tell you what rate of descent you need and when to start, but you have to do it.

Eclipse vs TBM? Great presentation and I loved the MGB reference!
@rickdc3
@rickdc3 Жыл бұрын
The TBM, with Beta/Reverse, can get into a smaller runway. The Eclipse is faster, burns less fuel, flies much higher, and has the safety of two engines. The Eclipse is smoother and quieter without a giant turbine/prop in the nose. Oh, and the Eclipse costs less to buy. For me it was no contest.
