Very kind of you to say, I really appreciate it. I don’t know that I either forgive or forget but I try to learn from the experiences of employers that have not made things accessible for me and try to carry them over into other experiences. For example, I am currently in talks with the national organizational partner for the job I currently have about making programming materials and resources more accessible for staff as well as students. I hope that someday I can maybe put everything I’ve learned into a talk of some kind, I’m just starting to do some professional speaking and contract work, so maybe that’s in the cards someday :-) thank you for watching and commenting, I appreciate it.

How blind people pass their time because as a blind guy you can't do much things
@blindovermatter305422 күн бұрын
That’s a really great question and I’m definitely willing to make a video answering it, I have many hobbies that I partake in, a lot of people think that if you can’t see that there’s less you can do, but at least in my experience that hasn’t been true for me. I enjoy playing video games, spending time with friends, taking care of plants, traveling and many other things besides. I will do my best to make a video and shout out your question though, thank you very much for asking.

Have you tried turning them off and back on again? Or simply telling your eyes to not be blind?
@blindovermatter3054Ай бұрын
I tried, both unsuccessful. I thought maybe a walk around the block would do the trick, or that closing my ears really really hard would make them start cooperating a little bit, but both optical receptors appear to not be functioning at peak capacity for the moment. For the research and testing is required.

Great idea indeed. I use similar mats to define my playspace in VR, so I can physically feel if I'm going to be flailing my arms around in dangerous locations. I also never turn on lights at night unless I really have to around the house, so I've learned to navigate by feel which is quite satisfying
@blindovermatter3054Ай бұрын
That is brilliant about your VR play space, it feeds into a concept I’ve been thinking about lately which I call unintentional accessibility, where some element of design ends up helping non-disabled people with a specific concept, or is developed by necessity due to the way something is put together that ends up doing good for the disability community. Not exactly what this is but it just lines up, as far as the not turning off lights at night, that’s actually the example I give when the kids I work with ask questions about how I get around my house. You learn to navigate in the dark because you don’t want to turn on a light. For you, it’s convenience, for me it’s necessity, but the end result is still the same. Thanks for sharing!

Hi! Nice video, so when you use the loops engage you feel less the oclusion effect? My fear is that my own voice bothers me when i speak if i use them, i think i will buy it anyways
@blindovermatter305417 күн бұрын
For me, I don’t notice it a lot. You are going to get the occlusion effect in any set of earplugs, but the engage are definitely the least occlusion affecting earplugs I’ve ever used. I find it pretty comfortable even when I have to raise my voice with my kids to make sure that I’m heard. I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy them, let me know what your thoughts are if you decide to pick them up, I’m curious. I know what you mean though, when I was in radio in college, my voice drove me crazy, but to be honest you get used to it after a while and it becomes less annoying with time.

Man, outside of that terrible 1st inning, Farrell pitched really well and the bullpen kept it together for the most part! The offense showing up in the last inning was awesome! Royal Thunderer is making a name for herself with two doubles today and might be the best offensive weapon on this team right now. Great game winning HR from Gary Towers! I hope the offense can keep that momentum going through the rest of the season!

That triple in the 6th was so weird! It hit the top of the padding on the wall and it just rolled on that padding until it got to the end of the wall. We got lucky there, but unfortunately, she ran into an out on the following play. The offense was really nice to see and sorely missed lately! The pitching from Doktor was really great too! He's really good as a 3/4 starter in the rotation! It got a little scary in the 7th, but a win's a win! We take it and hope it turns the momentum in the other direction for the rest of the season!

Glad you finally got rid of Villegas! The guy was a problem all season! Hopefully his replacement can be more effective for us! Love the changes in the ballpark and with the uniforms. Battery Bay is always a fun ballpark to be at and the uniforms are just a classic design that looks great for home! This offense has been abysmal for so long! I know that you are a really good pitcher, but this team has lost all of their energy and enthusiasm for quite a long time! Nice to see a little fight from Jackman in the 7th, but really nothing else. Kudos to you as a pitcher with the complete game though!

Thank you so much for this review video! I am a Barbie collector and I haven't been lucky enough to find this doll in stores yet, but I want to add her to my collection, and I appreciate your particular expertise on the doll. A Barbie collector from the UK who is vision impaired mentioned that the cane was too long, do you think it is the correct length? I also wish Mattel had made a collapsing cane but they do lots of shortcuts to keep prices low. Filming dolls with one hand while trying to show and describe them is very difficult so well done :) [smiley face]
@blindovermatter30542 ай бұрын
Thank you very much! Kane height is a very relative thing, when I was a kid I used one that was about up to my armpit, as an adult I use a cane about as tall as I am, and I fused heights in between such as up to my shoulder or up to my nose, it’s a matter of personal preference. Most canes in the style that this doll came with are usually used shorter because they are rather heavy. The kind of cane that I use Tends to be longer because they are lighter weight and thus the heavy cane being taller doesn’t wear out your wrist as much, but like I said it’s a matter of personal preference that very much depends on your travel style.
