Nice review. I think I'm going to finally get one of these after ogling them for a decade. I've had short spins on them too. They are in some ways like a huge scooter, but in the best way. The ease of life on a Pan is unbelievable. The only thing easier is a car! She's a Sophisticated Lady all the way, but not at all snobby. Super friendly bike, but also super powerful and reassuring. I had a Honda Super Blackbird for 10 years, and though different in a million ways, that same Honda precision and brilliance made me love it. I just sold it last year because I'm done with the sport riding position. But it was amazing bike. 100mph and it felt screwed-into the pavement. I was going to get the ST next. But I made a bit of a mistep six years ago and bought as my second bike the original Japanese sport tourer, the Kawasaki GTR1000. Over here called the ZG1000 Concours. I got one super cheap and thought it would be a good intro to proper sport touring, but I've paid a price for my frugality. It has retro charm and an endearing crudeness by the bucket, and a ton of raw capability with bags huge fairing etc just like the ST, but my particular one has had fueling gremlins that I've spent a lot to fix to no avail and the valves and rockers are on their last legs. 99% of the time, it rides great...but those 1% freeway cut-outs are no fun! And I live in a place where freeways are virtually unavoidable to get to the fun roads. So, it will "Hello, ST" time soon I'm sure.

They are incredible bikes. I miss mine already TBH but feel like I have a ton of space in the garage now. Thats the only down side with the ST is they are big and quite heavy (but not as bad as a lot of people make out). But good luck picking one up, they are getting quite cheap now :)

They are a solid bike. Mine’s still going strong from new. The problem with them is once you have one it’s hard to justify another bike. They just do everything you need!! And they keep going in true Honda fashion. Very well engineered but can be a bit of a pain to work on (but most bikes are in some way a PITA to work on!).

Ride a Gold Wing right now. Got away from Harleys because the climate in Florida is too hot IMHO to not have a liquid cooled engine. I love Honda & would like to buy an ST1300 but I keep hearing about HEAT issues. It’s fine in winter but I prefer to ride on warm days. Do you ride when it’s in the 80s or warmer & if so do you have any problems with engine heat? Thanks for any help that you can offer.

Thanks for the kind comment. I thought its going to be very boring as its just as much info for the next owner. Glad you picked one up, they are incredible bikes! As long as the engine oil, filter and final drive oil is done, they will just eat the miles. However, one overlooked part is the rear shock preload adjuster. If your planning to bring a lot of baggage or pillion, make sure the shock preload adjuster is serviced/working. If you fully wind it out (anticlockwise), then start slowly adding preload with clockwise turns. You should feel pressure/resistance after about 2-3 clicks. If it takes ages to feel any turning resistance, it means the oil in the preload adjust is gone. Its easy to service yourself but just be careful to not overtighten the banjo bolt. Also, check brakes for any drag. Finally make sure your drain plug is clear at the top of the petrol tank. spray some WD40 in there every few months to keep it from corrosion. Thats some easily missed bits anyway!

Thank you for this video. I will try to get one of these to have with my camper. I have an old 1979 Di Blasi 50cc foldable bike, but I go to too many hills when I’m paragliding, so geared 125cc would work well. I’ve had 125cc once and some bigger bikes. My favourite was Suzuki Burgman 400 that could stop in the middle of any hill and accelerate from zero to fast overtaking speed while 125 will not do that. The are other aspects like easy handling and cheap and easy maintenance are winning here. And while small size can be uncomfortable to ride big roads it can be pleasant on small roads giving some nice thrill and easy handling. I’m sure I will get one of these soon. Thanks again for this great review 👍 Falun Dafa Hao 😊

Solid review, thanks a lot! Have you any issues with your thigh getting into the steering bar and would you know of any bar risers for this model? He would definitely need the bar risers. Cheers, mate.

It cost around 1900 euro in my country. Problem is, we can ride cub and dax without motorcycle licence and this need one. And when you got one, this is not the option in my opinion, since with motorcycle licence you can go quite better than this in 125cc area or on second hand market.
