Bello… i colori che hai usato x dare l’effetto rosso/ blu sono diluiti col trasparente?
@BogDustForBreakfast7 күн бұрын
Although you can mix candy with clear coat . On this project they were mixed with a intercoat “ transparent basecoat “ . It would have been impossible to paint this project with 2 colors using candy in clear coat

Hi mate . Top coat does . Rust starts within 4 hours . So epoxy needs to be applied within that time to prevent it .

Nice job. If you wanted to do it yourself you can just buy the correct rear garnish colour in a can...The GTS badges are originally solid pillar box red colour.
@BogDustForBreakfast23 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching . It was done in a candy because the garnish needed to match the red brake light lenses . You wouldn’t achieve that with a solid red color
@user-rn4uw6zw4f23 күн бұрын
@@BogDustForBreakfast yes the rear light lens are correct to match the boot strip but the badges were solid red. Great job on the garnish strip and lens surrounds.

Mate you can get a vice brake from machinery warehouse that does an amazing job of bending angles of all sorts. Also on the welder you should be using .6 wire and .6 tips. Much more suited to the job / thin sheet metal. Also shine a led light behind the butt weld to find pin holes post weld and or grinding. Final comment is you should aim to use 1.2mm / 18 gauge sheet metal. It helps with welding and also when you linish it down you end up 1mm vs using 1mm sheet and 0.8mm after grinding which is thinner than what you started with originally. Keep up the good work.
@BogDustForBreakfastАй бұрын
Cheers for the info mate . If I was to do fab stuff more often I probably would get a vice brake .i prefer to just do body and paint jobs . Haven’t done rust repairs on a car in almost 4 years lol

Ive got pontiac panels, small tiny pitted rust here and there after bead blast, ive 80 grit the whole panel but its impossible to get it 1000% off... Could i reatofinish just epoxy to seal it?? Also, when i done this rusgo step, all the 80 grit scratches dissapeared... Like it had a silky film... I dont trust this for adhession. Am i just stressing? Any info will be much appreviated Thanks
@BogDustForBreakfast7 күн бұрын
Hi mate sorry for late reply . What were you using to remove the rust, just 80grit ? You can also use red scotchbrite and get it deep in pits etc . As for the Rusgo leaving a film , did you let it dry? It needs to stay wet then you wipe off with water and dry cloths . No films should be left on the surface if done correctly. Wiping the panel afterwards with the steel cleaner would have removed said film . Hope that helped mate . Let me know how you go?

I wondered where you'd been. Question, how does deleting the heater affect the rego if the car was required to have one back in the day, which the HQ was?
@BogDustForBreakfastАй бұрын
That’s a good question. This car is still currently on club rego so unless it’s pulled over I’d say it’s fine . I don’t actually know the laws and regulations on the topic
@johnhutchinson9714Ай бұрын
@@BogDustForBreakfast What I do know is that all vehicles sold new from 1971 had to have seatbelts for every passenger and heater/demisters were to be fitted to all vehicles as per the ADR at the time. I guess it's up to the examiner these days. I've driven cars without demisters before, it ain't fun, but part of the journey back in the day, the good old days.

Done a few HQ Utes and sedans quarter are easy but rare spares never fit sometimes it’s quicker to make your own panels as they fit as for the plenum chamber I’ve replaced top and bottom panels always and trial fit front end back on for gaps before fully welding the new panels on as they not perfect or the same as factory spec gaps are everything and definitely worth trial fitting the front end panels back on before welding
@BogDustForBreakfastАй бұрын
Cheers man plan is to test fit before welding . That’s normally what I do . Can’t be that hard 😂
