@@Shawn-p8w having a open fan is perfectly fine mate . Just tack rag before you clear it . You’re always gonna get overspray when spraying in a shed . Best thing to do is keep fans running and remove all color overspray from the shed before you clear and all clear over spray before you turn the fans off when you’ve finished painting

Would a flattening of the clear at the black base stage and a flow coat be beneficial? Even with an anti static gun there always that rogue piece of crap in my black paint jobs. The parts I need to paint are fiberglass, so no bake cycles at any stage of the process. Also in regards to handling, will gloves still leave marks? I couldn’t see what the outcome of your thumb print was Thanks

@BogDustForBreakfast 6 күн бұрын
@@IratusAngelus621 hi mate you could flow coat the the black if you needed too . Providing you don’t sand or touch the flow coat it doesn’t make any difference really . As for not baking the fibreglass I see the positives regarding possible pinholes happening after a bake but the cure time of the black would be extended quite a lot and could potentially fry the chrome on application or cause other issues due to applying chrome to a non cured surface . I’d advise against doing it if you’re not baking . Another way around the pinholes would be to bake the fibreglass before doing any filler work priming or painting . This way if it was to pinhole you would have time to fix them before paint . If you simply don’t have access to baking in general then I’d be leaving the black for a couple of weeks before applying the chrome . But again that might not be viable either. Good luck

@@BogDustForBreakfast Hey thanks for the prompt reply. So this item is a one of one for an art installation . I’ve given it a hearty bake initially before a fill prime but I’m still not keen on giving it a bake between each step though, knowing my luck it’ll blow out or delaminate on me. Lol,. Blacks have always been a sht magnet, so if I need to reclear it I’ll go down that track and give it a low temp slow bake after each step. The process steps aren’t so much of a concern but my tip size set up is , I do have an Ego190 but only in a 1.2 and am concerned about it looking overly grainy. Any tips regarding this would be much appreciated Thanks

I'm not sure what a plenum chamber is for. It was originally designed for air pressure equalisation but seems to be just a place to put the wiper motor in the HQ. Anyone know?
@fredflintstone245
@fredflintstone245 Ай бұрын
I think it provides positive pressure for ventilation into the cabin, these old cars you would open the vents and you didn't need the fan to force the air in, there was a decent amount of airflow just from the vents due to the pressure from the plenum chamber. The dams were there to prevent any water getting into the cabin which was drained at each end. Typically the drains block up with leaves and crap and the water sits there and it rusts.
