The Transformation of 1989 in Poland was an another example of the upward movements of the society that recognized and rejected ideologies which - despite what they say - turn out to be countercultural, revolutionary, antisocial, and - eventually - genocidal. In the 20th century there were TWO such ideologies haunting Europe. One is currently being consistently condemned by, and in, all educational systems of the world, the other is being strongly promoted on a large scale. The first is Nazizm/Fascism, the last one is Marxism/Communism. In 1989 the destructive results of Marxism in Poland reached the breaking point. Communists were "excused from the power" in a gentle way (not so in Romania though, or in Czechoslovakia, where they were banned from any political offices, etc). What happened was a miracle long awaited by the people of Poland and all of the Soviet Bloc's nations - freedom from Marxism and Communism. But is it forever? Thet depends on how strong contemporary Marxists will now be in forcing their "revolutionary" utopias through by their on-going "Long March Through The Institutions" (Rudi Dutschke). Never trust Marxists. Never trust Nazis. These two are culturally destructive, with Marxist ideology even more hateful to any existing culture than Nazis (the "New Human = The Homo Sovieticus"). The rest is just the details.

Thanks for your insight William. We are a small Arts Society who have lost all our income which is derived from shows. We have 4 staff members to keep employed. It has been extremely difficult, with no assistance from government because we are an NPO.
