A few words: I got my bender after they sold out initially. I want to say it was 229. Then I ordered a 1 3/4 180 (pictured) degree woodward die off amazon for 423 shipped and a 90 degree die came. This tied up my money for a month. Then I took another chance on an eastwood die because it's more degrees than the 180 from woodward (240* iirc). It does fit and work with the woodward copy. Got 15 bucks off in email then 10 off for first time customers and called eastwood to get the two discounts and he gave me free shipping for 438 shipped. Next the bender; when you get this bender don't expect to just open it and use it. I am a tool maker cnc guy by trade and it's some serious finish work to get it all to be good. Each part needs deburred alot. Every hole and every edge. They come unfinished and razor sharp. The parts are dirty with oil and basically tossed in the box right of the machine. It took me about 3 hours to clean and debur and assemble the unit. It's probably okay as far as being loose at all the joints and connections but it takes some serious MOJO to work it and use it. It's not easy. Going to bend some more test pieces now. It's easy to crank manually and I just put it on a big vise for now. Probably build a roll around stand and do the swag kit later.

I’m just getting into fabrication. Didn’t know anything 4 years ago. Don’t really have the time in the day. Even after I retired 3.3 years ago. Taking care of a client now. That lost her husband. He died taking care of her. And after 23yrs of being there gardener. I meet her 27 months after he died. They had no children. So now I get to spend maybe 3 hrs a day at my shop whenever there’s no Dr appointments. I did learn from your video. I have access to one just got the call 2 days ago. But would like to have the hydraulic with it. How much is the hydraulic itself for that one? Thank you very much for the video. I subscribed so that I could learn more from yours.
@TrailTime.11 күн бұрын
@@DennisCrossSr hey Dennis. The hydraulic ram I’m using is about $125 and the clamp made by Swag Off-Road is around $200. The air over hydraulic is convenient because it allows the bender to be on a movable stand. If you have a dedicated spot to mount the bender it’s not much faster to use the air/hydraulic ram compared to the manual ratcheting lever. I’m working out of my garage and didn’t have room to put a permanent pedestal for the bender.

I've had my bender on a engine stand for probably 15 years. The best part for me is that I can roll the bender 90° and pull my bends up and down. I almost never bend flat. My floors not flat either and vertical vending is so much easier the trying to level my planes before starting the bend.
@TrailTime.28 күн бұрын
@@leroyhenderson3530 you’re right about keeping the bender level and everything in plane. I thought about rotating mine 90degrees like you’re describing.
