Hi Sylvia, I made this jacket for a friend and she would like pockets on it. I would like to do them to match the jacket, but since they are square I really don’t know how to start. I couldn’t find a similar pattern anywhere. Any ideas?

For anyone making this. I am a size small/medium. The neckline on this is very large- I am a regular tension crocheter. I would say after spending days on this, that rather than use an “I” hook, I would use a “H “H hook as it is very long also- for someone way above 5’6” as I am. It was a very loose finished piece and when it hangs on you it stretches even more. I would say this piece as it is done here is for a large sized woman or at least one who is XL or XXL. I am going to have to do some decreases on the-neck so it is not falling off my shoulders. Also, she says it took 2 cakes. Mine took 3 cakes and some from a 4th because some of the colors is not enough to do the last several rows of the granny squares. So I would say at least 3, and half of a 4th. I have done at least 15 ponchos but I usually use “4” yarn not 3. Although I like the pattern and the look of this one, I think it is too thin of a yarn with too high a needle size. Please list this as size Xl or XXL please. I hope my feed back is useful.

You should recommend to change the last row color on the squares bc it looks better. I did it the way you did the video and I had to buy another 3rd ball of yarn bc there is not enough of one color to do it. It looks better anyway the way you did it here. I thought originally it was he join that made the stripe

Got all the way to the stitch markers and now had the wrong amount on Spaces-going to just toss it out. No idea how that happened. Only 46 spaces and not 48. I followed every row…darn. Hours of work lost

It’s really hard with that yarn to decide where one color ends and another starts when separating the yarn. I cant find that color anymore. It’s too bad the camera is out of focus.
