So beautiful to watch and their costumes are always so amazing. I have always loved taiko drumming and they are really great. And you can see their joy in performing. Fabulous.

Tao taiko is arguably the best taiko group in Japan. I always get goose bumps and chills listening to their beautiful music. And always enjoy the visual aspects of their performances, too.

That "red flame" fabric is amazing! Does anyone know the name/fiber content? I'm mesmerized by the cloth, I'll have to come back later to enjoy the dancers, the music, the rhythm and experience piece by piece, and then the entire production! I'm too distracted right now, thank goodness this is a video & I can save & replay, replay, replay & replay in slow motion & screenshot! I quickly noticed another comment that mentions the women's muscular vitality & poise, which I aspire/have been desiring to achieve now that I am in self-induced isolation over here in America. From the beginning of time, this planet has been through constant challenges/changes, some catastrophic/some gradually, some unpredictable/some predictable, and some scientists have been watching/warning/preparing for/expecting for a long time. The natural earth, the air, the seas, all life, the universe, works within an intelligent design fueled by love. Love is the life force that constantly renews itself, the more love a person gives the more returns, and the more is planted, spreads and grows. Love. Never. Dies. Memories of love live on, keep strengthening, keep giving encouragement, keep love and hope of love alive forever. Hate destroys, but will eventually destroy itself, even it's loved ones if they don't open their eyes/hearts. Hate is so futile, wasted energy, self poison. Thank you for sharing your love, your energy, your beautiful music! I will be back to watch more!

From their Wiki: "The strenuous physical demands of their performance style demands that all performers also train as athletes. Their daily workouts, which start at 5 a.m. and end at 10 p.m., include a 20 kilometer run, calisthenics, martial arts training, and hours of dance, drum, and music practice. During the first ten years, 400 trainees ran away, after which the founder and "boss", Ikuo Fujitaka, adjusted the training regimen. 40 people have dropped out between 2003 and 2008"

All taiko drumming groups do rigorous physical training. If you ever get a chance to see a one man performance with the o-daiko (the biggest drum the troop has) Its a complete show of power, artistry, and athleticism in one performance.

Neal Middle School went to Carolina Theater in Durham to see the children's performance of Drum Tao. ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE MOST ENGAGING PERFORMANCES FOR STUDENTS A SCHOOL CAN ENCOUNTER. THIS IS A MUST SEE!!! They reach elementary and middle and will highly entertain high school. double thumbs up.
