These river paintings are stunning. Do you mix any medium eg linseed oil or liquin in your paint to get the fluidity? Are they painted on canvas and do you use turps in the initial paint layer? I'm interested in the technique you use for layering your work. Thank you.

The ‘simplicity’ of those seascapes ( 3 bands) is a hard judge if you don’t get the key elements right. Your talent, to me, is the key focus of that large space with every element richly supporting it. Thank you David

I've just discovered your work via Pinterest and it's stunning! I'm very much a beginner, trying out watercolour and recently acrylic and have been searching for the perfect style I'd like to achieve - and now I've found it. Guess I'll need to splash out on some oil paints sooner rather than later, but may try some medium with the acrylic to slow the drying time down. I've spent many a happy holiday in Cornwall but more recently discovered the Outer Hebrides and it's amazing beaches and coastlines, if I can replicate these scenes to 1/10 the standard of your work I'd be chuffed to bits!
