I am continually amazed by how well both Piko and Maple's eye colors match their coats. Maple particularly; I have never seen any other cat with russet-colored eyes like hers. Piko's grey(ish?) eyes are uncommon too, although I've seen a few others.

It may be difficult to break Maple from getting on the table because she has been allowed to be up there for so long. She needs to learn the word no and you guys need to be consistent. When you see her getting ready to jump, say NO and say it firmly. If she is on the table or counters, pick her and gently put her on the floor while saying NO. If she jumps back up, repeat the same,, gently on the floor while saying NO. Maple is very intelligent and hopefully can unlearn what she has been allowed to do. As a whole, my family never allowed any cat on tables or counters. They learned the word NO and if they ever were found on a table, they were put on the floor immediately. My last cat knew that NO meant NO. If I saw him contemplating jumping on the table, I said NO and he would walk away, most of the time, coming to me. He was intelligent and adorable. He was much loved. I miss him so much. I now have CLL, leukemia and what I've read says I shouldn't have a cat in my house. I have an oncology appointment this week and will check with my doctor. I enjoy Piko and Maple every day. God bless!
