D.J. Kap said in an interview that the reason for the malfunction was because of the heat and humidity that day. The moisture/ water, sweat, ect. was dripping on the turn table and warping it. Afterwards he apologized to Biggie and Biggie said its all good, i just had to give the crowd some laughs 😃

I wish he'd hired me back in '95. That DJ was rubbish! He threw the bottle the minute the DJ accidentally hit the 45 button on a 33 rpm album record. So please stop blaming the weather! That's lame or as kids say today, "Cap"!

The real reason why that happened: Biggie and Junior Mafia were performing at the Summer Jam and NY was experiencing a heatwave which was over 100 degrees outside but the lights on the stage made it even hotter. The records were literally melting on the turntables. Biggie knew this but to save his face he blamed DJ Kap and threw the bottle at him to make seem like he was messing up the performance

Rubbish! Kids who know nothing about vinyl will believe your BS. Yes it was hot but I DJ'ed in the 90s in extreme heat. The only way the records would get warped is if they weren't stored properly (i.e unprofessionally which still means he's DJ Crap) and you'd notice it the minute you put it on the decks so you wouldn't play it! FOH
