I really enjoyed the video, thank you. Loved the back story and your experiences before and using the 17/70. I have the tamron 17/70 and have to say I love it. It makes photography so much easier and more enjoyable. All I have in my kit bag now are the tamron 17/70 and the Samyang 12 F2, I'm covered.

I like your concert shots. This looks like an excellent weapon against the music industry's war on fan photography. The model seems overdue for an update, though.

Thank you! It's the only camera I know I can bring and get decent shots. I'm not sure Canon will upgrade it. They may just make a new point and shoot with a different name to replace it. 🤷🏾♂️

I can’t speak to the Mark ii as I’ve only had the Mark iii. For an everyday carry the autofocus is good. I haven’t had any issues and I enjoy the updated features. Hope this helps. 🙂

Some reviews mention potential compatibility issues between this lens's vibration control/compensation and cameras with IBIS(Sony 6600,6700), leading to image stabilization problems. Is that true?
@ItsLarryGАй бұрын
I honestly can't speak to the 6600 or 6700. I'm using this lens with the Sony a6500 and the Sony ZV-E10. I haven't had any compatibility issues with the 6500 which does have IBIS. The ZV-E10 has a small hiccup every now and then because the stabilization is digital. I would say do your own testing before shoots, but know your use case. If you have time to make sure the shot is right, go for it. If you're in high pressure situations, I would lean towards using a more reliable combination. Hope this helps.

If you want higher quality out of this camera process your raw images in DXO photolab for optical corrections, sharpness and denoise. I use this camera for street photography and the results are amazing. After initially processing in DXO photolab I do the final processing in lightroom.

While I don't disagree with your comments about primes being smaller, there is something to be said about one lens that stays on your camera. So if I'm out shooting, to have three prime focal lengths, I have to carry a bag and have two of the lenses in the bag. So is it lighter in total weight? Is it as convenient? And at this point, optical performance of zooms have closed the gap vs primes. If this was a 20-50 f2.8 , it would be homerun. But as is, I see a place for this lens. I had a 24-70 f2.8 and while great for events and wedding, was too big and heavy for casual carry and travel. And frankly, I find 70mm to short for portraits anyway. So I would have an 85mm with me even with a 24-70. The Tamron 17-70 f2.8 is a great option, no doubt. Hadn't considered it for my setup.
@ItsLarryG2 ай бұрын
I see both points, but I stand by my opinion in the video. I think the focal range is just strange. I also think it depends on scenario. If I'm out shooting street or just have my camera with me, I'd most likely bring 1-2 lenses for the sake of convenience. The 17-70 is solid for crop sensors and definitely way lighter than the 24-70. While the 24-50 doesn't fit my needs, I'm sure it fits someone's as Sony has sold a lot of them 😅 Cheers!
