Yacht Club is fantastic, but I am fine with the Aurea or Fantastica experience (Aurea is my preference) in an oceanview balcony. I could make Bella work for me as well with adding on specialty dining and a thermal spa package. For me, it's more about the ship. I prefer the newer ships for sure.

@kouklakee Thank you for watching. Holbox is definitely not for everyone, but that is also part of what makes it magical for some of us. As much as we love Disney and our big mass market cruise ships, we also love exploring less touristy places. I was not sure Holbox would be for us either, but we both miss it terribly and can't wait to go back. More cruise vlogs are coming up soon, and then one of us will be in Europe!

We had some appetizers only, just tan out of time with so many places we wanted to eat on the island. Food was good and service was fantastic.

We visited in late June. We had perfect weather 3 out of 5 days. On one day it rained for about 4 hours and then it was overcast for about a day and a half.

The current pricing is showing $149pp, but I really do not think that is how much we paid. I feel like we paid $99pp tops. Perhaps because that was January or day of and now it is summer peak pricing, perhaps. But that gives you an idea.

This room is literally a few doors away from the cabin we’ll be in next month. When you’re first out on the balcony, when you pan to the left, the balcony with the whirlpool on it is our cabin! It’s so nice to get to see exactly what our vantage point will be!

Thanks for the input. All comments help. Here's the thing: Did we wait until they actually physically removed us from the ship? Obviously not! My wife runs a travel agency, and we would have been banned from sailing all RC owned lines going forward. You may feel that it's misleading, but if you were in that situation and told that you would not be able to continue the cruise if you didn't accept the 'recommendation', I think you'd feel differently. Thanks, again, for the input. 😊

How did you use create the intro and what did you use to film?

Hey! This is Brent. Thanks for checking out our video(s), and thanks for the question. I use a program called Cyberlink Powerdirector 365 to edit all of the videos, including the intro. As far as the cameras, we use primarily our phones, which are Samsung Galaxy s-series phones, currently the s24 Ultra and a GoPro 11. In the last few series, I've been using a DJI Pocket 3, which has been amazing. The shots that I think you are mainly asking about (the parasailing and pool shots), we're recorded using a Insta360 x3 360° camera. Unfortunately, that camera broke and I have not replaced it yet. Thanks for your video, we just booked the Bahamas Cruise on the Utopia for next spring. Funny thing I noticed watching your video and the gal singing jazz in Central Park. She was on our ship the Harmony singing but we were in western Caribbean. Roatan, Cozumel cruise. .

This is not an excursion I usually recommend for most cruisers as the Sandals day pass is very pricey, about $350/person. And, they can only be purchased at the resort on the day of visit at the resort’s discretion, so there's a chance you could get there and be turned away. As travel advisors, we are able to make a complimentary visit. It's about 30 to 45 minutes from port depending on traffic, about $50 taxi fare each way. I love Central Park. There is nothing like it. I also love the specialty dinning. It’s my thing I love to hang out on Central Park at night. The live music and the whole ambiance is amazing. I’ve been on Allure once before and traveling again on Her in December. Very excited. How was Sabor? I’ve never been there but wanted to know if worth it. I have the unlimited dining. The alternative would be the ship finds itself 12 hours out in the ocean and they need to evacuate you at huge expense to you, the company and potential the other passengers if ports end up getting missed. I think the recommendation was a good one.

The title is attention grabbing but, truthfully, there was no option for us to stay on the ship. It was made clear in no uncertain terms that we would be leaving the ship whether we agreed to go of our own accord or not. It was in their best interest and ours for us to agree to go willingly.

They probably would have just had you sign some paperwork that says that Royal Caribbean would not be held liable if something happened while you were at sea and you all would not be able to get proper treatment and things took a turn for the worst.

No, that is not the case. You had to be there, I guess, but it was VERY clear he would not be allowed to stay. VERY, VERY CLEAR, but it was also in their best interest for it to be "our" decision to leave. And it was also in my/our best interest not to fight it.

Yes, in the end, we did end up with a full credit. We feel confident that if we had pushed back on their 'recommendation', we'd have not been given the credit and very likely would've been banned from RC cruises in the future.

You’re bashing royal at the cruise terminal in their wheelchair. Should have just sat down in the shade. Got something cold to drink rather than waste all that time just to not go. Pure drama

@@83bryanc Excuse me, 100% not bashing Royal at all. Furthermore, you do not know my husband's entire medical history, including the fact that he has two stents in his heart, among other chronic issues. Royal made the right call and so did we. This was not a situation of an otherwise healthy person without a heart condition nearly passing out who just needed to eat a banana, drink some water, and get out of the shade. The recommendation was to be transported by ambulance and the ER staff reitierated when we arrived there that that would have been wise given the initial findings.

RCCL graciously gave us a 100% Future Cruise Credit although they did not have to do that. Always get travel insurance!

Honestly though, way better to be safe then sorry, especially when you are still on US mainland, so you really did make the right call to leave the cruise and play it safe. Out at sea or in a foreign port, it could have been an absolute nightmare if you got severely sick and had to do an aeromedical evacuation, or got too sick to travel and were stuck on an island for awhile. Hopefully you feel better to enjoy another Icon cruise in a few months.
