This is when I first heard Broadcast, in high school, staying up late every school night obsessively watching ZeD TV on CBC. This band came on and I was instantly entranced. She was taken from us far too soon - such a singular, visionary band this was.

Der WDR bleibt klassisch; mehr am Müll der Umgebung Interressiert, als an der Kapelle.

This week I found my definitive band by chance. Really sad to know the singer passing. why these gems dont get the accolade they deserve?

Love the 60s sounds. Almost like a Velvet underground feel but with Cardigans thrown in there too

Saw Trish in her second last live show here in Australia. I got the t-shirt, but find it hard to listen to the vinyl. She did her last gig at the Meredith Music Festival and got infected on the flight home and died. I was gutted - I followed Broadcast from The Noise Made By People… I just expected they’d keep releasing brilliant album after brilliant album but that abruptly ended, I wish they never came to Australia. RIP Trish.

I saw them in the early days right after EP2 came out. They opened for some indie band in Kentucky. Immediately it was clear they were a once in a lifetime situation, just incredible.

Of course Trish is a haunted goddess with her childlike voice of a 1000 yo witch, but the band is so so good, every one of them, every part is a tiny polished jewel

There will never be another band like this, nor with the deeply personal witchcraft of Cocteau Twins on Treasure. Music like Chord Simple, Winter Now and Ominous Cloud are too inward-looking for our times, which are whorishly committed to spectable above everything. I've said it before, but this band is so untroubled by appearance they look like the uncool kids at a high school somewhere. Yet their spellcasting is completely convincing
