Do u operate in Papua New Guinea. And who is in charge if yes, because currently SSE is operating a online platform where we are allowed to rent machines to earn daily earnings. I would love to here from you

EVs are a drain on the power grid and no longer viable. SK On’s EV battery venture is going belly up. Face facts, we are decades from sustainable electric.

all fun and games, but where money will come from for your govt spending? it will come from your own solar panel you paid for, from your turbine you paid for, they will tax you for your production for your self. they will tax the wind, and hours of sunshine...

The Royal Society recommend the UK should have 100TWh of energy storage (it's currently 39.3 GWh from 4 pumped storage facilities). That's over a 2,500 fold increase. That means building 10,000 pumped storage facilities or 400 every year. That's at the same time as increasing wind power generation from 75TWh (in 2020) to 665TWh (in 2050 - these are UK National Grid figures). That's around 100,000 giant wind turbines. And by the time you get to 2050, the 4,000 wind turbines you needed to install in 2025 would have reached the end of their working lives and will need to be buried in landfill, and replaced with another 4,000. It's all impossible and absurd.

Wrong, you amatures think electric vehicles and solar/wind is the "good thing to do" .. google lithium mining or how panels and turbines are made... 😅

If that were true, you wouldn’t need politics to be involved in “green” policies at all. They would just occur organically because the will of the people would be evident in their choices. Green parties need politics to impose policies on the public that aren’t happening organically.

Highly recommended is, “Climate: The Movie (The Cold Truth), if you want facts, understanding and resources to talk your loved ones about this issue. The children deserve to see this movie.

Solar is cheaper by a.magnitude than any other means of energy production. Fully through whole process from mine to recycling. It is happening ING because it makes sense... you work for the obsolete.

Just what Scotland and the UK needs to store the intermittent energy from solar and wind power. Think of high pressure sitting over the UK in winter

Nice one. Sad reality is that if you go to any toy shops, you will see a strong separation of girls’s toys and boys’ toys and strong separation of colour ( pink vs blue). This separation starts too early.

Thank you very much for this. Its very interesting and very useful insight, especially for children, to learn about this form of generation. Some of the legacy stations such as St Fillans will at some point need overhauling as the only problem with the schemes is the lifespan of older assets I assume. Great visual resource.

Hi Scott, A revised application to increase the scheme’s proposed capacity from 600MW to 1500MW was approved by the Scottish Government in October last year. Find out the latest progress with the project here: www.coireglas.com/

Great scheme and currently the smartest and most efficient way to store fluctuating renewable energy. I guess the round trip efficiency of this scheme should be more than 80% due to low evaporation and other losses. We have similar schemes reliably operating in the Alps since many decades but it becomes increasingly difficult to get approval for new ones for environmental reasons. Regarding the environmental impact, I see room for improvement on rockfill dams worldwide when it comes to landscaping and blending the airside better into the environment. As good as we are in designing, engineering and constructing things for the future, we have to improve on that aspect.

Hi Craig, you're correct - this was a no fly zone managed by the Aviation Authority for unapproved pilots. This UAV was flown on behalf of our demolition team (Keltbray) who had the relevant permissions required.

What? No snark whining by the anti windfarm people? I'm shocked! I live in Washington state and windfarms are a vital part of the energy generation mix. I have built nuclear, coal, oil, natural gas, and biomass thermal plants and am pleased to see new generation facilities coming online. After a lifetime working on and maintaining industrial facilities, my final job was doing a environmental cleanup at a coal fired power generation station. This type of building does my heart good.
