Had loads of these, although i prefer the next model down, the Zephyr. Unusual to see a Zodiac all one colour, must have been a special order, Zodiacs came in a two tone colour scheme on the lower body unlike the Consul and Zephyr

Thank you for posting this. Talk about nostalgia! My dad had one of these in the mid1960s (PJU 478) except it was all black, and was called a Ford Popular. We travelled thousands of miles in it, and it used to take all day to get on holiday (no A-roads to speak of, and no bypasses back then). I know that the Popular, Anglia, and Prefect names were fairly interchangeable amongst various Ford models at the time, and sometimes the badge seemed to be the only way to distinguish them. He sold it around 1967 for £15 to the chap who used to deliver the bread for Frears and Black bakers in Leicester. If only I knew then what I know now!

Yep, First is at the top right (the numbers are cast into the gate) and you do have to Double-D on the way up as well as on the way down. Not hard with practice. Rather a nice colour scheme.
