Do cake layers even need to be refrigerated if they’re being used the next day? I made a carrot cake and I want to frost it tomorrow. If I had made an unfrosted carrot loaf or banana bread I would not normally refrigerate it. What is your advice on this? Thanks

Thanks for the information. I have Pre-schoolers and cake project this Saturday. I'm planning to bake the cake Thursday night and freeze, then Friday night I'm planning to decorate it , put frosting and some fondant decors.it's gonna be a whip cream frosting and fondant decors. will it sog? I'm afraid that decors will sog and fall. the event will be Saturday afternoon. Otherwise, I will decorate it on Saturday morning. What's the best way? I'm just a passion baker.

Question, I made a cake late last night (Friday) that I want to serve on Sunday morning. I wrapped it as you mentioned this morning (Saturday) and put in my freezer. I’m trying to make it moist and I was wondering if the condensation will help with that. If I take it back out of freezer tonight before bed and put it in fridge, would it be ok to icing tomorrow morning? Or could I icing while frozen tonight, and put whole thing in the fridge. Trying to decide which is best to do for maximum moisture.

Helpful hut way too long. Could've said double wrap with plastic wrap and out in fridge and made this video 30 seconds at most. Thanks for the tip but no need to make videos so long for something so simple.

This can happen if the cake is still warm as the steam will make the cling wrap stick to the cake. Try to let the cake cool down to room temp before wrapping it ☺️

How do you keep from removing a thin layer of the cake when you take the plastic wrap off the next day? Doesn't it stick to some of the plastic when you pull it off?

Hi I can make a good sponge cake in an oblong tin and take it out off the tin still with the parchment paper on and put on a wire rack to cool, then when it's cooled I take i[ out of the parchment and leave on the wire rack over night but I always have a wet, sticky top on my cake. Can you please help me in what I'm doing wrong. I really do enjoy watching your videos they are very informative. Thank you so much. 😕

Thank you for this great video. My sisters children only like chocolate cake but dislike butter cream, as they find it too sweet. With this technique, it would make a nice change to add a bit of colour

I don't really like American buttercream because it's overly sweet for my taste. My favorite is swiss meringue buttercream. It is sweet enough and taste very light 😍
