This version of the song was more popular in Nigeria when I was growing up. I thought Eddy Grant was a yoruba man until I googled his name to find out his is from Guyana

I believe Julius Orlando Ekemode wrote this Yoruba version of the original English version for Eddy Grant.

The bass line on this song forced me to drop playing lead guitar. I still include some of the licks whenever am chanced to play for fun.

Your comment brought back a vivid memory - this was one of the first bass lines I ever noticed in a song although it took years to realize that was the bass. It was so catch I used to hum just the bass line alone to myself! Had forgotten that experience until now
