One of the most serious depictions of space warfare ever. Star Wars and Star Trek don’t even come close to the grit of this scene.

Seized by God, they cry for succour in the dark of the light. Mists of dreams dribble on the nascent echo and love no more. Jump. Counting down. All functions nominal. All functions optimal. Counting down. The center holds. The falcon hears the falconer. Infrastructure, check. Wetware, check. Everyone hang on to the life bar, please.[4] Apotheosis was the beginning before the beginning. Devices on alert. Observe the procedures of a general alert. The base and the pinnacle. The flower inside the fruit that is both its parent and its child. Decadent as ancestors. The portal and that which passes. Nuclear devices activated, and the machine keeps pushing time through the cogs, like paste into strings into paste again, and only the machine keeps using time to make time to make time. And when the machine stops, time was an illusion that we created free will. Twelve battles, three stars, and yet we are countless as the bodies in which we dwell, are both parent and infinite children in perfect copies. No degradation. The makers of the makers fall before the child. Accessing defense system. Handshake, handshake. Second level clear. Accepting scan. Love outlasts death. Their ships fail. Skittering like skipped stones. Meaningless in the absence of time. What never was is never again. Progress reports arriving. The farms of Aerolon are burning. The beaches of Canceron are burning. The plains of Leonis are burning. The jungles of Scorpia are burning. The pastures of Tauron are burning. The harbors of Picon are burning. The cities of Caprica are burning. The oceans of Aquaria are burning. The courthouses of Libran are burning. The forests of Virgon are burning. The Colonies of Man lie trampled at our feet.

Tragically again it's good ideals wrapped up in the form of a useless old man. I hope that if there is ever another new version of battlestar galacta 1 will be a woman. Even an older woman like Roselen or Ellen & I could love her. It just isn't fair.

Not sure if you knew this as its not very well known, but Starbuck and Boomer were originally male back in the 1980s BSG. They switched it up for the new one and did a very great job transitioning the essence of their characters. Point is they've already done a lot in the effort to make BSG more egalitarian, so whats the point of going any further? Besides, I dont see how Adama being male subtracts from his character or makes him useless for that matter lol.

If only the Cylon just glass the entire colonies' planets, instead of targeting the cities, they wouldn't have problem with those pesky resistance force.

i think the could have if they really wanted to but remeber cavil atleast subconsesly wanted the humans to suffer + they still needed some for the experiments ( to have children). i think it can be safely sad that they just didnt really want to or the would have put in the effort to like you say glass the planets there still robots after al more then capable of making the calculations.

I LOVED that ending to the movie. Ties in PERFECTLY to the show though we don't know what happened to that other Six. It pretty much means that the Cavil in the movie is the John Cavil of the show who killed himself in Daybreak.

In my opinion, the battle of the 12 colonys is soooo stupid. All the fucking battlestars on the fleet are upgraded with a recently and very new update? Are you fucking kidding me? The fucking writers can't see the upgrade method for the US Carriers? The upgrades are only applied when the carrier needs a repair.
@lmlm197010 жыл бұрын
IT was a RETROFIT not a repair , it was supposed to make the ships better not disable them with a virus, SO it backfired on them , you dont understand shit about the bsg series
@ancaplanaoriginal530310 жыл бұрын
Ando you don't understand a shit about my coment, A battlestar is like an actual supercarrier, it receive a retrofit when it enters on the dock to make repairs, not until is active service.
@lmlm197010 жыл бұрын
TheDuckKiller everyLoL The fuck OFFCOURSE they do the retrofit on the docks , and so the rest of the fleet probably already had the retrofit installed before the attack , the pegasus only survived because they had the system offline

Wait, hold the fucking phone. All of the Defenses of caprica where destroyed, right? The cylons had access to every military code and protection, so why the hell are Colonial ships coming down to the surface? Did a small portion of the fleet survive, and fight against the Cylons? Why was this never mentioned in the series, even when Starbuck was on Caprica?
@ageofgreen9910 жыл бұрын
The fleet of battlestars was wiped out; except for two. Remants of the fleet did survive and tried to mount a gorilla war in the colonies. After Sam Anders was rescued, no further mention of them was made. Given that the colonies were nuked, you can assume the other survivors died off from radiation poisoning after the anti-radiation meds wore off. The Cylons didn't have access to every code. what they had was a back door through the command navigation program created by Baltar. It was stated that the only ships that weren't affected were either outdated (Galactica) or extremely far behind on their maintenance (Pegasus). We can assume that included Raptors and Vipers too. That is why i never install those Apple updates as soon as they release them. lol

"The Plan" is the Cylon point of view of the attack on the Colonies so it's before the attack not after
@wesleymccurtain16610 жыл бұрын
Anthony Green In my opinion, the radiation from the nukes was going to defeat the humans no matter what. Even if they won, they lost. They were dying, the planet was uninhabitable for the next, who knows how many thousands of years? They ONLY hope would have been for them to scatter into the deep cosmos and reproduce.
@AlexSDU9 жыл бұрын
+The New Channel Design Sucks! Yup. It's pretty hard to fight Cylon with gorilla. Take too much time to train them.
@dylanburger21710 жыл бұрын
@Krinkut Origiona Actually, the cylons didnt outnumber humans. The colonial fleet consisted of nearly 120 battlestars (we know this because in the series when Adama says 30 battlestars were wiped out in the opening of the attack, Starbuck says "thats nearly a quarter of the fleet") Colonials had the cylons outnumbered, but colonials were slaughtered because they couldnt fight back. Cylons infiltrated the human defense network and shut down all defenses and ships through a back door in Baltaars newly implemented Comand Navigation Program. If it was a fair fight, although technologically outmatched, the colonial forces would of been able to somewhat stand against the cylons. The two armies would of eventually wiped eachother out.
@kitsinu110 жыл бұрын
And yet all the biotechnics (aka Lords) in the Colonial military had all been put onto the Battlestar Galactica. Remember the job interview in which Adama was connected to a lie detector and asked if he were a machine. The Colonials knew that Baltar, another biotechnic whom they thought a cylon plant, was in contact with another biotechnic. The Colonials did not use Baltar's navigation program. But the Colonial computers had already been hacked, and had always been hacked since Kobol, by the controllers of the cycle of time. The controllers of the cycle of time would be the simulation of the first Aphrodite (aka Caprica Six) and the first Eros (aka Gaius Baltar). There weren't five on the ship coming from Earth, there were in fact six. Since Eros (or his simulation) can't kill (except when his hand is under someone else's control as in Fragged), the coming of the simulation of Aphrodite was the deathknell for the Colonies as she intended to wipe out the Colonies as she did every cycle of time. This is in vengeance for the murder of the first Lords of Kobol who were killed by the biotechnic plague (released by a member of the 13th tribe on Kobol). The simulation of the first Aphrodite loves, not the simulation of the first Eros, but the first Eros who was killed by the biotechnic plague. They controllers of the cycle of time don't know how to resurrect someone killed by the biotechnic plague, so they kill the Lords using the biotechnic plague each cycle of time in hopes that someone else will discover the secret to resurrecting someone who killed by the plague. Dr Baltar's cylon detector worked just fine, it just came up with far too many hits, including himself, Adama, Apollo, Starbuck and President Roslin, so he didn't dare give it to Adama. Adama would have thrown him out the airlock as a danger to the fleet.

When i first started watching Battlestar Galactica (1-2 Years ago) i thought: "Hey, this Robots (Cylons) they are much more powerfull than us, that's why we couldnt defend ourselves." Then, after a Year of watching Battle Montages and looking up in Wikias i realized that, they weren't more powerfull than us, they just took us by suprise. They had the Suprise Factor. That's what fucked up everything for us.

I think it would have been cool if Brother Cavil found a way to build a body that could do all that. (Maybe a golden centurion.) Then he orders a centurion to kill him and he ressurects in said body and then when Helen runs to his awakening she asks. "Why? Why did you do it, John." and he turns to her and says in the scariest voice you have ever heard. "John is dead. You may call me...Imperious Leader." And the episode ends.
