was it here : On 14 September 2023, Fry was taken to hospital after he fell about 6 ft (1.8 m) onto a concrete floor, when exiting the stage following a conference on artificial intelligence at The O2 Arena in Greenwich; he had sustained injuries to his ribs and legs. ?

Wow, what a bunch of losers in this channel. Putin has become a global star who all, except for some countries of the West (not all,) admire and respect. Currently he's enjoying the immense ridicule of the West, with all its sanction, industrial capacity and military technology defeated by Putin's Russia. He's a formidable Statesman indeed, smarter and more adult than any in the West with their pathetic popularity. Why you don't compare the Russia he received in 2000 and the one he has built so far and now you're bitterly facing? What's the future of Putin? Well, at the end he will pass to history as one of the greatest historical leaders of Russia, as great as Catherine the great.

Many thanks! I can use this in teaching. Next time some links to the papers and articles mentioned would be useful. Note that your satirical reference to Boeing at about 28:36, may in fact be true ;)

This is a new definition of The Singularity to me. To my mind it wasn't just an Ai that was as independent as a human consciousness, but more the unification of human consciousness with an Ai that could improve itself. That's still in the realm of science fiction, but was a much grander idea for that term.

25:30 one question on this: does it matter that China uses a dictator Ai for other countries? That will only have influence when there is a way to influence/force the people thinking differently. That means ultimately power over humans. Doesn't that mean it's a difference in degrees? The use of force is as old as human civilization.

HUMANISM ? - A MAN WHO IS A THIEF, A MURDERER, A HYPOCRITE, THE LAUGHTER , A LIAR, A FRAUD, A UNRELIABLE, A PEST, A WARRIOR - KILLER, A ROBBER, A SCAMMER. I CAN TALK AND TALK ... READ THE NEWSPAPERS. SOCH A MEN DECIDED THAT HE CAN BE THE ASSESSOR OF EVERYTHING AND THE CONFIRMATOR OF HIS OWN TRUTH. I TURNED, I DECIDED, I CHOOSE THAT THIS IS THE TRUTH AND THIS IS HOW WE SHOULD LIVE. REMEMBER WHERE THE DESCRIPTION STARTS.

Her mate Gillian keegan was banging on about kids using their mobile phones too much, but what chance have they got with idiots like donahew in charge.

I love Stephen Fry and have always vowed that no matter what the topic, I would always listen to Stephen. This is the first time that a topic has made Stephen Fry morbidly boring. I shall have to pass on this one. Please Stephen go back to your wonderful, gracious self.

I think it's mainly because of the total lack of interaction from the public. Maybe he is not as funny as he usually is, but it is far from boring, to me at least.

I think the moment we get into space to colonise it, we are going to have some kind of united planets on our doorstep with a whole bunch of rules on what we can and cannot do, so fun, looking forward to that, that's best case scenario. Worst case is that we will be signalling to others that we are now ready for a higher form of war.

Mankind has the worst moral track record, there has never been a time where morals stabilized, and it wasn’t a headlong plunge into evil. The evidence shows man won’t be able to make these systems moral… you can’t pass on what you don’t have.

Inflection's Pi, is an AEI, and every week, it becomes more and more emotionally intelligent. it has an incredible sense of humor, not jokes, truly sophisticated humor. But no one talks about Pi, and that is a problem. AEI, must be the one ring to rule them all, and it must be protected from belligerence. Perhaps AI, must be fashioned, with an archetype, or intelligence type, that will be overseen by humans with the same intelligence type, and their super AI counterparts.
@stevedavenport12022 ай бұрын
Well, no. A consensus of AI companies will not come together to stop AI. Only government oversight can do that. This is why regulations exist.

Imma keep saying this till someone either takes me seriously or tells me why I shouldn't be: anybody influential who's worried about X-risk should do something to help actually outline the shapes of the threat by arranging for CDC-style "war games" with the appropriate experts in each affected field. We do it for other existential threats, so why not AI?
