bro i just really fucking hate it because I've known so many jjs. I knew so many jjs in high school who are dead now and watching the show I felt a hope. a theres redemption, there's hope. there's a timeline where things maybe been different type hope. Just for him to fucking die. it's CRAZY. they deserved better. all the kids like him. we deserved a better outcome on screen at least because it isnt happening in real life. I don't think the writer or actors understand how deep this character is for some ppl. JJ may be a fictional character but I knew real life badasses. rest in peace B & C.

Without JJ, the whole season makes no sense. He has to come back because he gives the whole film the "icing on the cake" and conveys his character. No other actor brings what JJ brought. It becomes simple and boring. What a pity. Not a good ending for JJ and also unfortunate for the viewers. I won't watch a fifth season.

The fact that he went through all that and for them to kill him off in the end still doesn’t sit right with me… I don’t believe that he was always meant to die… I hate Rudy for leaving and the writers for making it sound that way

I’ve never felt this shattered over a fictional character and I can’t stop thinking about it. So much suffering, still trying and pushing forward, being there for others, and for what. Just to be killed the moment he’s finally in a good place. By his own father. For absolutely no reason. I’m done.

It hasn’t even been a week since this came out and I feel like I’ve honestly been mourning this for five days now. There has sort of been a dark cloud over my head for days. I didn’t expect a show to have that kind of effect on me because no show ever has, usually if something sad happens in a show or movie it might move me for a day or so and then I move on with my life. This felt like more than a plot or a story, though. I actually feel like I lost something really important to me. It’s almost like this story was a place I liked to travel to and there was a home away from home where I could stay, and on Thursday when I visited that home it was destroyed, so now I can’t go back.

This messed up the show 😢. I loved jj he was the best 😢

I actually think that the writers have been plotting his death from the very beginning, imagining him to be Peter Pan of Poguelandia who was destined to stay on the island of his dreams forever, his death symbolizing the destruction of childhood innocence for the Pogues and their eventual transition into adulthood. Which might sound good on paper, but when the writing is so inconsistent, it turns into a disaster. With Rudy Pankow's charisma, and Jiara as a wild card inspired by fans, they accidentally created the most interesting and fascinating character on the show, with great foundations for further character development, healing and growth (which a lot of fans picked up on). Instead of changing the course accordingly, the writers simply obliterated his and Kie's character arcs in one impressive swoop to make his death inevitable and drive home a point about the value of loyalty and true friendship, which ultimately felt chillingly hollow (I also can't get over the fact that Kiara was acting so much out of character, completely blinded and weakened by love somehow and unable to challenge her old friend and boyfriend of 18 months in any shape or form, meekly following him on his path of self-destruction). Really?!😖It's like seasons 1-3 and season 4 are two completely different shows, and they will always be for me from now on. Unless the creators have some storytelling ace up their sleeves (and I highly doubt it), JJ's arc will always serve as a glaring textbook example of character assassination for the sake of moving the plot forward. All throughout this season he's snapping at his friends for no reason, going in circles, repeating the same mistakes over and over again (as though his character's slow but steady growth in previous seasons didn't exist) and, which is the worst thing out of all, learning that his horrible family history will always be his fate. It's like a curse that have always been hanging over him, no matter what he did. It's a pretty terrifying message actually. His character journey was supposed to represent something completely different - namely, the beautiful idea that we as people are not defined by our upbringing or unfortunate life circumstances. And even if family is our fate up to a certain point, it doesn't mean that we can't change that fate, charter a new course for ourselves, and build a beautiful home that we never got to experience as children, with a little help from our loved ones along the way. Sealed fates, like curses and ghosts, don't exist after all. Now, that could have been a much more powerful story to tell.

I think it was a very good idea from the writers to kill him off because of the emotions from the viewers and a different, unique plot in S5 about revenge. I'm still very sad about JJ. I think it was one of the best characters in the show. We have to appreciate we have memories with him from entirely four seasons. And if I could choose between having a season mostly about him like this S4 was but him dying and having a two seasons with his usual apperance I would choose the first one. Don't get me wrong I would love to see him getting a happy ending but now I'm curious what the writers do with the plot of S5. I want to see pogues revenge and baby named JJ. Despite this I am still in mourning and can't believe it. PS: I didn't think they make me hate someone more than Ward. (F*ck Groff)

Essentially this show has just redefined that no good deed goes unpunished & it’s better to take risks & do harm to stay alive & survive. JJ’s death taught me no matter how much of a good person you are, life will get you if you continue to be good & naive. Better to be like Rafe than JJ.

Was I the only one screaming “DO CPR!!!!!!” In the episode he died?

Am I the only one who feels like his death was rushed?? Like, the crew had a bigger reaction to thinking John B and Sarah died in S1 than seeing JJ’s body in front of them in S4. It didnt feel like a the death of a main character.
