There is more professionalism and wit in this one number than in the entire show of "Wicked."

Check out Beth singing "The Lady's Improving" from THE PROM. This is from the final performance, but I'm pretty sure she held it longer at other performances: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoOXlalqgsiijLM

I was in a touring show in 2006 and 2007. I remember having a day off in NY. I bought tickets in the 7th row center for this show and never regretted it! I was mesmerized and laughing for 2 straight hours. At the end of this song, my heart was leaping out of my chest. Absolutely incredible experience.

I think it's kinda funny that there's any comparison between a broadway show and high school show. There are two basic reasons why a high school production can't compare to broadway: 1. The talent pool for a broadway musical is infinitely larger than that of a high schools and majority of the people in the broadway "pool" have been refining their trade for much longer than any high school student. Mind you there are some incredibly talented kids who are at a broadway standard but very few

Not saying they suck. I'm saying they're kids that can't touch Broadway caliber talent. Many high school PRODUCTIONS are near professional... the acting/talent? Usually not. And even if they have all the talent in the world- they still come off as kids playing adult roles most the time.
