Nice to admit that the Transcontinental Railroad was GOV'T FUNDED. Damn gov't, huh?

An excellent Presentation...a small correction. Central Pacific bought it's first engines from foundry's back east, shipped around the Horn, brought from SF, and put into service from Sacramento. Thanks from Darrell: an "Original Transcon RR" fan. Subscribed.

I'm so angry they're planning on tearing these buildings down to put up a stupid hospital. We have enough hospitals in Sacramento let's keep some of our freaking history!!! They're also taking down the old historic Bridge what are you doing to this town? I'm ready to move now
@missdoommm5 жыл бұрын
From what I've heard they've changed plans it's no longer going to be a museum they plan on tearing it down and putting in a Kaiser hospital and a soccer stadium for the new Sacramento soccer team. I feel there's plenty of other places they could place those buildings where they would not be tearing down a part of History!
@adventuresofjm28445 жыл бұрын
@@missdoommm I agree. The machine shop was still in use the last time I checked. It's used to fabricate parts used to restore historic locomotives - not just for the Sacramento Tail Museum but for museum across America. Would be a shame to lose it.

In your intro the word length is mispelled. Its an easy overlook sometimes. Otherwise love the video and love the Santa Susana Section you filmed it on.

Great video, I was surprised to see you walking around and filming especially them coupling the new engine. The VRE’s are a great commuter train here in northern Virginia, there is no place for the trains to turn around so they run backwards on their return trip. Wish you could have gone into Union Station, it is so very beautiful. Thanks for sharing this great video :-))

My daughter works in DC. Been to Union Station a couple of times. It is nice. We were getting off in Alexandria (the next stop). Next time I'll get off and take the Metro to Alexandria (quicker). But glad I had the opportunity to shoot the video!

Thanks for the upload.

Happy you were able to video your ride. I was on the TX. Eagle bound for San Antonio,we stop in St. Louis for refuel and rest stop for 15 minutes. I decided to to stroll up to the engine and was rudely introduced to the don'ts of videoing a train and the penalty's that would incur if I didn't cease my unlawful act.of violating some rediculous Federal law LOL,NO JOKE! Amslack ain't much but their all we got! Great video by the way and thanks for sharing!
