As for the CC fandom, I do think a lot of that discourse will calm down next year. When CC was at Iowa, her fans loved Bluder & all of her teammates whether they won or lost. I think many fans wrongly expected CC to automatically have that same chemistry instantly when she joined the Fever. So just like there was an adjustment period for the Fever players, there is also that adjustment period for her fans. And when you have generational player like CC, you need a coach that has White's level of experience & confidence. She can not only to handle the media & press, but she will also have the respect to manage players issues that can come with having a mega star like CC on your team. And CC doesn't want a coach that just lets her do whatever she wants, she wants a coach that can challenge her to be a better player too.

Agree. I really enjoyed Cee's analysis. She was very objective about what White can bring to the Fever. Being a big Sun's fan as she is, it would be easy to be salty about losing a great coach like White. So I really appreciated her objectivity. I think how she feels about liking the off court drama is probably the biggest difference I have seen between the new CC fans vs existing fans. The new fans seem to care more about game play & don't like all of the off-court drama. And yes, there are those extreme CC fans that want to create drama out of every little thing someone says & that is ridiculous too. But I do think the majority of new fans don't care for the "Real Housewives" type infighting & bitterness among players & how that often becomes more of a story than the actual basketball play on the court. Ironically a good example is that is how many CC fans really liked Carrington at the beginning of the season because they respected what a great job Carrington did guarding CC in those early games. But the off court drama that followed made them sour on her very quickly.

@amyk6319 you made some good points about what new fans like vs old fans. I won't attempt to describe the old fans, but new fans truly are coming for the basketball. Black men who grew up loving basketball and like what they see in Caitlin's game. Sports fan parents and grandparents who bring their children to games to encourage interest in sports. Iowa fans following one of their players to the pros. (Iowa fans are intensely loyal to their players including following them to the pros.) For ALL the fan groups I listed above, it's about the basketball.

@@mtmvpn He's not holding up for 17 games playing two positions though...and if you want the best pure CB...I don't think that's him. There are 5 elite CBs. Maybe trade down, get Campbell at ~7/8. I'm not even a Pats fan, just believe you should build your team from the inside out. Hunter is a special talent, but...what's a smaller WR do for you if your QB doesn't have time to find him? Just...my opinion.
