I have the same problem on mine. 12,000 miles on the clock. Only rode it 100 miles since purchase. Been sitting on battery tender since October. Tried starting it a few days ago and it took about 5 attempts. Cut out when I came to a stop a few times. Not sure if it is the Clutch or because it's been sitting for a while.

I joined the club try the workaround - press the starter button in, pull the clutch lever in untill the microswitch just engages and engine starts spinning (keep clutch in that position as if you are riding the clutch on pull away) - engine should start up easier. Not fully disengaging the clutch from the drive train helps to place sideways pressure on the drivetrain / sprag clutch making it 'grip' more. (my theory here - could be some other engineering reason for this but this does work) Taken From MV Agusta Forums

Replace the Sprag clutch. it's a known problem.

always run ethanol free fuel in the bike..the warning label on the tank says use alchohol free fuel..

2013 675 went out a few months back. It’s been a nightmare trying to get a new one. Tried taking it 500 miles one way to a certified shop that said it would be replaced but changed their minds once I got the bike there. I live in the middle of nowhere and can get no help from MV Agusta. Any suggestions?

Hi Bruce, I had this exact same symptoms on my F3 675 on the weekend, can you confirm the sprag clutch resolved this issue? my bike is a 2012 so well out of warranty

Yes new sprag fitted, no problems since. Bike covered 6000 miles now

Thanks I had the same symptoms and popped into to Alfs Motorcycles who serviced, new battery and spray clutch, since then no issues.

Yes it's good that you have no problems now, but why did the other one fail. This is a common problem, so why would a new clutch be any better than the other one. Are some of them made with faults. Is MV remedying the problem or just a band aid fix?

I have the same problem, but during starting proces some bad sound like hitting the two metal parts, Brutale 800, 2014, 9200km, is the sprag clutch so often part that gets broken ?

+Elyar Shikhiyev MV Agusta just recently recalled on a few units that have the same problem. Apparently it is caused by the starter(Sprag) clutch. I just had mine fixed at the dealer.
