You're only struggling to present the historical facts because you lack anthropological support. people are not only classified as one without expedite research. The term luhya originally come from a verb oluyia meaning an amblicode (olulela) connection . For example we luhya can refer to Nandi as oluyia of kalenjin a people who belongs to Kalenjin. The luhya attached to one another by custom and culture embressed this term Oluyia lwanje to differentiate themselves from Abanandi,Abanyolo Abasuma and Abasebe (Masai)whom they regarded them to be enemies (Abasuku)and rivalry. Though Maragolis are very close to Abaganda . of Uganda many of the Mulembe subclan that forms Luhya came from Buganda , Busoga ,Masaba because of interlacustrian interruction and assimilation . So luyhia is a tribe.

A treasure of great value. Thank you to whoever recorded this interview. Do need to use transcript as its hard to hear and understand what is being said in portions of the recording. I lived in many countries in Africa during mid sixties & seventies when one could travel from one country to another over difficult terrain so Mavis's descriptions and her reliance on God was natural to those of us. ESP was acute allowing us to tune in to what actions to take or not take and find those who would help us.
@4thcandlemediatv5 ай бұрын
Super glad to hear that, dear Dilly. We caught up with Mavis I her latter years. Unfortunately her voice was so low at the time as she was sickly. We tried to edit to pump up the volume. This is the most we could up it.

Who is Allah u Abbah? Are Bahais christians? Which Bible do they use? Do they celebrate Christmas?
@4thcandlemediatv7 ай бұрын
Hi Ronny. Alláh'u'Abhá is an Arabic phrase that basically means "God is the most Glorious". It's used by Bahá'is as greetings whenever they meet. The Bahá'i Faith is an independent religion. Therefore Bahá'is are members of the Bahá'i Faith. Bahá'is use the Kitab-i-Aqdas which is a holy book revealed by Baha’u’lláh the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá'i Faith. Bahá'is do have families that celebrate Christmas. They believe that Jesus Christ is a one of the Manifestations of God. They therefore join their Christians family and friends in commemorating the birth of His Holiness Christ. However, Bahá'is do have their own holidays including the birth of Baha’u’llah which is often celebrated in October. For more detailed information about the Bahá'i Faith and its teachings, kindly visit: Bahai.org

The Bible is a part of Baha'i religious scripture, but in the same way that the Old Testament is a part of Christianity. There are connections, but as another commentator said, it is an independent Abrahamic world religion. It's main purpose, but far from only purpose, is the unity of mankind... both socially and spiritually. Peace be with you.

One assignment i want to give you,go find out why the Maragoli pronounciations are unique or somehow different from other luhya subtribes.I think Maragolis are not luhyas,they are a tribe on its own but closely related to luhya.

In less than a century, the Baha'i Faith has brought a feeling of hopefulness to several communities in the continent of Africa. The Baha'i Faith is a new cycle of human power that brings humanity together. It generates the energy & desire to fellowship with people of different tribes, races, nationality & religion. It's a power that works to exterminate from the face of the earth any feeling of superiority or inferiority. It's an invitation to fellowship with diverse peoples of the world. It promotes the use of scientific and prayerful ways of solving problems. It's a power that instills in individuals & society the confidence to question ancient beliefs & institutions that promote hatred & fear.

Caxton Nyahela The word Luhya has a very broad, deep meaning and it existed before colonialism as a collective name for the 22 Luhya subtribes.In Hebrew the word Luhya means ' Yes God'.Just like other Bantus Luhyas are Semites,Hebrews and their name Luhya is a great evidence of their Semetic heritage.The word Luhya therefore has Semetic,Hebrew origins,Europeans found it existing and Luhyas used it to preserve their Semetic Hebrew identity.All Luhyas love their Luhya name.Presently one is a Luhya first before anything else.During post election violence the greater significance of the word Luhya came to surface in Nairobi. The Luhya family stayed and moved as Luhyas but not subtribes.During elections in Nairobi,the imporrance of " Luhya" also surfaces.The importance of the 'Luhya ' will continue to expand,it caanot be succesfully ignored underestimated , disputed, diluted nor belittled.

Well my genetic testing through cri genetics says i have luhya ancestry. So bro might be on to something. But its recognized here in America.
@nickbwire2544 ай бұрын
Hello, your narrative has not basis. It's mere hearsay. Your definition of the word Luhya is very wrong. You truly need to do independent research in this regard. Classification of some people into a group called Luhya is basically for identity. We may have variations in the way we pronounce words but we speak the same language.
