Put ignition on. Don't start engine, press the brake and reset it then
@arsonalt2 күн бұрын
so if you don't do the reset after the engine oil change, the engine lamb will show up yellow? cause i just got it this morning and dont know what to do with it. wanna just be sure that the engine lamp shows up if you dont reset!

Thank you for this video. Changed the matrix on my Seat Leon ST in less than 2 hours. I am not a skilled mechanic, cost me about £70 in parts. My Seat dealer wanted £1300 + 600 for a flush of the system. The car is 10 years old. Just be careful when removing the feet heat distribution part. It is attached to the blower with on screw. Broke mine off but would still fit back together ok.
@occocia3 күн бұрын
would it be better to flush all coolant out first? thinking this may be useful for 2 reasons, 1 you dont get all that mess during removal, 2 there might still be debris in the pipes which will flow back into the new matrix potentially blocking it

Hi Tony. Good video. I have this issue with 2014 leon. I got the timing belt done 7 weeks ago and the heater worked for approx 1 month although I did notice the heat wasn't as good as before at times.. Heater hasn't worked for 3 weeks. Temperature under bonnet is 30degrees on larger pipe and 24 on the smaller. The heater matrix is 13 degrees - car running for 30 mins when tested and showing 90 on dashboard would you know the issue with this?
@tonyakautos7 күн бұрын
Did you replace your waterpump with the belt? I'm the matrix is as low as 13 and your cars up to temp doesn't sound like it's flowing to the heater matrix. So likely its needing replaced
@stephenjohnston49617 күн бұрын
@tonyakautos yeah the waterpump was changed

Very helpful video. Ive had this problem but it only blows cold air on the drivers side. Is this only heater matrix for a duel climate control? And mine is a 2015, is there any changes between the years?

Hey man, great video. I'm having trouble removing the lower panel below the glove box - yours just seems to fall away, but mine is clipped in place or something... Do you just have to tug it?
@tonyakautos12 күн бұрын
It might have one up at the rear check it if it's the lower one should just come down the side panel of the center console does take a fair pull just check ur not missing a screw
@RhysMogg12 күн бұрын
@tonyakautos Thanks mate, I did find there's a thumbscrew right at the back or that panel, perhaps yours was missing. So it's 3 T20s and 1 thumbscrew holding that bit in.

Done mine but seems passenger side blows warmer than driver side any ideas
@tonyakautos23 күн бұрын
Mate to be honest they seem to run hotter on the passengers than drivers think its because the blowers on that side is it only a small difference?
@DarrenHutchinson-v4f23 күн бұрын
@ yeah it’s not a big difference but can notice it
@tonyakautos23 күн бұрын
I think thats just something with them the last one I done I noticed it tried resetting flaps in dash etc didnt make any difference was a degree or so on the diagnostic only way I could improve it was to lower the blower @DarrenHutchinson-v4f

really appreciate this video. got it done in 2.5 hours, spending 90 on parts and 20 on tools. was quoted 1400 by one garage, and another said "the whole dash has to come out, we won't even quote for it" (both vw specialists -- not main dealers). thanks!

If anyone is having trouble finding Service intervals in the menu, try to find it by pressing Start/Stop on neutral ( dont press the cluch and brake pedals). It worked for me. It wasnt showing while the engine was working. Thank you for the help!

My 2016 Leon had this issue aswell, no heat out the vents, only gets warm when the car is moving or revving it and the passenger side vent was slightly warmer than the driver side. Replaced the heater core and flushed the cooling system and now I have nice hot vents 😊

I have model 1 4t sport. Serviced it, reset it, drove for a few weeks, and it was on 87%. Was strange, because my Opel Adam (previous car took a month or two to go down that much). But, was not to bothered. Then, today, I had some fun with the car, went on the highway, came close to redline a few times, and now, I am on 98% oil life. Seems that there is a sensor or algorithm being used. I know LSPI is a problem, and drove a bit slowly the last few weeks. Today, after murdering my car, I think the % of gas in fuel burned off, due to heat and high revs, thus oil life became better? I have driven Opels the last 20 years, and this is the first model I found that does more than just "time" the life of the oil. Yes, I was shocked, and went crazy searching for reasons on google. Only one forum talked about the algorithm
