I definitely subscribed. Thanks for showing these helmets. Back in the 70's I used to collect the little plastic helmets they sold in the Quarter Machines. I had always wished that they did College teams and any other Profession Football helmets back then. Granted in the 70's we didn't have so many different Pro Football leagues and teams. They were fun to collect and fairly cheap too. Plus since they all came with stickers back then you could make customs if you wanted to. It was fun. Although the helmets that they have in the machines now, or the last couple of years had their logos already printed on, and the had much nicer/better facemasks. They are also no longer a quarter. Last time I got one it was .50 cents or .75 cents. I used to love the helmets. I really wish they would have made the older teams helmets. For example the Washington Redskins yellow helmets with the ®️🪶 logo and the red stripe. Or another Redskins helmet, the Maroon version with the Florida State Seminoles logo. The spear. I actually had the White 🦅Philadelphia 🦅Eagles🦅 helmet with the Green Wings, instead of the green helmets with the grey or silver wings. The Houston Oilers had a few variants as well, as did the Steelers and 🤠⭐Cowboys⭐🤠 as well.

The Philadelphia Stars had an excellent team, arguably NFL level in play. Their helmet admittedly was pretty bad. I don’t know why they skipped on bold logo colors and instead opted for a faded almost stenciled on look. If they had kept the gold helmet while ditching the “Stars” lettering and instead opted for a brighter red star logo with perhaps a similar yellow gold accent like the modern Stars logo it would have looked a lot better. Nice video! I have to admit the Breakers helmet was innovative and quite beautiful actually.

Gotta say I'm partial to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Edmonton Elks (Eskimos), both are excellent designs, and both are easily identifiable. No doubt about what the team name is. Well the E team IS a little subjective. All the American teams were so-so, the originals have their acts together. BTW, didn't the Montreal Alouettes have a different logo each week for at least one season, maybe two?

Your top three are so far above the rest they are easy to pick. I would move the Panthers to one followed by the breakers (I'm from Boston) and then the Bulls as the third best. I just loved that orignal USFL so much!

Typical Vince McMahon sleazy marketing with cheesy, semi-tough team names and logos. When I watched the first game, and saw how they were using "ladies of the evening" as "cheerleaders", I knew it was going to fade fast. It did. Vince is sleazier than his promotions.

I know you couldn't show every AFL or IFL helmet, but here are three great ones that I think you missed: Arizona Rattlers (original - 1992-2008): copper helmet w/teal facemask and no stripe; logo is a black "R" trimmed in teal, with the interior of the R forming a copper rattlesnake with teal markings. New Orleans Voodoo (2004-2015): purple helmet w/black facemask and no stripe (red stripe with yellow trim, 2013-2014); logo is a white skull wearing a black, red, and purple top hat, above two red-and-black crossbones forming a "V", all surrounded with yellow. Memphis Pharoahs (1995-1996; became the Portland Forest Dragons, 1997-1999; Oklahoma Wranglers, 2000-2001): black helmet w/black facemask and no stripe; logo is a yellow pharoah's nemes (striped headdress) on the front and forward sides of the helmet.

Personally not a fan of black helmets. (Steelers get a pass). Logo concept is ok, but not the execution. - Extreme. Should eliminate the L A from the logo. - Birmingham is a win. Its' funny cause I was 8 years old and my aunt would always get me VHS tapes of football bloopers and I never knew what these teams were. I always thought the USFL was some sort of college league because it was the late 80s and that league was defuncted. I finally figured it out when I was 10 when I went to the baseball/football card store. I had no idea so many NFL icons played in that league during the three year run. And what really sucks is that I had a Hershel Walker card and though it was a fake or cereal box card because I had never heard of his team. Since then I have been an avid follower of the history of that league. Good video.

- Gunslinger's logo was awful. Dopey cartoon character? Also, just too much detail. Logos should be relatively simple. Why not 2 pistols crossed? - I'm a Chicagoan who never loved the Blitz logo. It looks like it should be on a protein bar or energy drink. Also not crazy about the team name being the logo. I much prefer symbols. - Bandits should have used a masked man. Get rid of the horse. - Federals helmet is sharp!!! Great logo, love the color scheme too. - Showboats needed a better team name. The half paddle wheel looks like turkey or peacock plumage. - Gamblers is an awful logo. What about playing cards or dice? - Wranglers... i like the idea of the branding iron, but not the execution. Too detailed. Should be only 1 or 2 colors. Instead of the branding irons, maybe they should have made it look like the helmet was actually branded. - Invaders. The logo isn't bad but it doesn't make sense. What IS an invader? Cheerful colors don't match the team name either. - Outlaws...I agree, better than the Bandits...but I don't like black on black. Helmet facemasks should have been red or white. - Renegades tomahawk is good, but get rid of the lettering. - Panthers- great logo and color scheme. - Bulls logo was great but should have been larger on the helmet. - Breakers helmet is gorgeous and totally unique!!!
@VikingWaxPressКүн бұрын
@@bossfan49 yep, it was way too hard to see that level of detail on the helmet from anywhere in the stands. Good colors in my opinion, but terrible execution of the Gunslingers brand. The Wranglers logo was my favorite, but it was my first hometown football team too, so maybe biased. Live in Portland now, blocks away from what was Civic Stadium, would have loved to have seen a USFL game there. David Huffman who played for the Vikings and later Wranglers was one of my coaches in high school. We had one kid who's head was too big for standard high school helmets. He was given a helmet that had to be repainted blue each week because the Wranglers copper would show through with each nick. In the Outlaw days, Doug Williams was of the classiest athletes I ever met. He was more interested in hearing my experience as a high school football player than his status as a star. I still have the autographed card from Williams.

Awesome experience - I was so glad when Doug Williams jumped over to the Outlaws for the Bucs. I love the Wranglers helmets and with better contrast they would've scored higher. I was lucky enough to have Breakers season tickets in '85 and I am holding out hope they return someday. Wouldn't that be awesome?
