After changing battery to higher amps and changing LCD screens, it remains a "On & Off" thing. I suspect is moisture in LCD and main board connection. Spray some electrical lubricants on the main board, switches and resistors and observe. Hope it helps.

Just curious if you have tried it and did it help? I replaced my LCD but still the same problem. I was told it is an issue with LED Back Lights not working. And how did you change the battery for higher amps? Where is it located?

Yeah this didn't work for me the display is still not working purchase new display for mini tools they warned me that it's the motherboard didn't listen I purchased the new screen installed it still same issue same problem screen not working waste of time misleading information

I have the same issue on a 2016 and spoke to the guys at minitools about a new lcd. they confirmed that it is not the lcd, but rather a resistor on the motherboard. They have a bench test kit and replacement resistor, but unless you are proficient at de-solder and soldering it's a difficult repair, at best. Now I'm looking for a used, complete instrument cluster vs a new one for $1350 at MB parts.

In the uk. Beware, the screen is also held in with 4 screws on the back of the lcd screen and you only need to undo the ribbon from the back of the cluster, the black clip slides down and is easier 😉

I could not remove my display. Vito 2015. Something else than the tabs holding it down underneath. Probably som glue? Got it halfway up on both sides. Then The white plastic started to crac. And force needed was very, very uncomfortable..

Unfortunately that's just a waste of time and €90.25 (current price @ minitools) plus VAT plus shipping. It DOES not cure the problem. Here in the UK the proper repair costs £239 with a lifetime warranty. 1 day turnaround or while you wait repair in Dorset.

If you are very Lucky, maybe you don't have this stupid problem. If not you are like me. It's not display problem. Don't waste your time. Take it to dealer they will fix for 2k. You know what this piece is garbage not worth to fix it.

It is worth fixing, just not by replacing the screen. Repair in UK costs £239.

Great video thanks! The problem I have is that my screen is temperamental. So sometimes it's black. Sometimes it's flickering and sometimes it's on like there is nothing wrong with it which leads me to believe the screen itself is possibly fine. Maybe there are 2 different problems folks are having🤷‍♂️ But any updates regarding this issue will be greatly appreciated 👍

Mine too. Screen started working again for about an hour but not since. Seems to me like it isn't the screen - backlights either work or they don't. Probably more likely to do with power delivery.

I have same problem. Replaced the display but not working. I think more of motherboard is bad but not sure. I am afraid of buying display cluster cuz if not working or need to reprogram. MB need to recall on this problem. I bet more and more owners gonna have same issue.

I have a tested solution for this problem,I can sell repair kit if interested,but you have to know a little bit soldering skill,repair solution is fairly easy,and the repair kit is an upgraded modified parts,with better current and voltage ratings. [email protected].

I had just finished changing mine. Bought from Ali express for USD$99 for LCD. Will update if it works later. Mine is right hand drive for Asia countries. My local only authorized workshop quote me USD$2000=PARTS $200, SOFTWARE TRANSFERING $1800!!!

My one same I bought new screen for my 2016 it didn't work Both my one and new one if I flash with my hand light you can see it is still work But won't light up Any idea please

Not accurate, LCD held by 4 T-8 screws located behind back (black) cover. In my case it did not solve anything. I contacted minitools specialist and described my problem before purchasing the screen. Specialist warned me that this will not work, that the problem is not the screen, it is the motherboard. I decided to buy it and try it. Well it is not working, I can see LCD display data if I flash light. No back light on LCD display. Dealer wants $ 1600.00 to replace and reprogram instrument cluster. Not a total waist of time, but in my case it did not solve anything.
