I love the response to the question why do you telemark - "it's just what I do". I'm going to give up trying to justify telemark and use this response! Beautiful film, beautiful skiing.

Just wondering did u sell your motorbikes at the the end of your trip
@blu112233

We finished in Boca del toro in Panama. I swapped my bike for 10 dives and Jen swapped her bike for 5 nights accommodation. Was good value. Better than trying to sell them and waste time hanging about doing nothing. We bought them 2nd hand for about $600 US each so they owed us nothing.

I'm amazed by the images, never pictured Japan as a powder-rich country. Also surprised by the many deciduous trees. Soooo pretty with each tiny branch covered. Admiring the smooth dance-like movements of the telemark skiing lady. I tried it a few times for an hour but it takes a lot of strength and balance and I quickly went back to parallel.

Cero Torre killer. My favorite backpack trip. Tele even better! The notion lock the heal fix the problem, piss off. I say drop the knee, drop the sport!. If you really want to learn how to ski learn tele, no cheating in the back seat. Walking up and down the mountain, you explained it perfectly. Never give up you killed it! Tele 4 life. Well at least until I can't, then die no reason to live. Who knows who you saw ripping and who changed your life depending on where you were it could be me. Gad you found it. The turn truly is life changing, changed mine in 1995. Mark thank you for the swap of bike parts, leather boots and skis.

You will be able to find a local guide easily. Also if you are there for a while some of the guides have time off between trips and you maybe able to use them then. There is also a lot of terrain to ski without a guide. Go!

Old man kelpie here has been camping with me since he was 7 months old. loyal guard dog, wont leave camp unless its ok, always comes when called or whistled to. As much as many ppl will argue, i dont have to chain him. I realise im watching this 18 odd months later, id be curious to see how things have progressed since this was filmed. Blatant plug here, i have a few vids of old man kelps camping on my chan if youre bored. Gleno.

Awesome telemark technique on the steepest slopes (east gullies on Feathertop) in the Vic Alps. A mate once described the difference between downhill and telemark as driving a car compared to riding a motorcycle.

I agree that’s a good analogy. Just one terminology nit-pick however… telemark is a downhill technique. The distinction you’re drawing is between alpine and telemark, both downhill disciplines.

You can train them to come back on dog whistle. I used this technique when i went to outback with my kelpie. Kelpies listen to you much better when they can roam around freely. Also whiste can be heard from really far away.🤞

how do you train them too do this without treats?
@junkwon8388
@junkwon8388 2 жыл бұрын
@Jesse Ianuali well it really depends on the breed. Usually herding dog breeds like kelpie or border collie, you can start with the toy instead of treat as they like playing with toys over treat and then slowly take it away.
