@@HugoWill Thank you! While I've not tested the Komodo myself, all camera's SDI ports do introduce some latency, before the monitor and / or wireless TX/RX. The Alexa family is apparently the best at less than 20ms, which is what I read online, that's less than 1 frame of delay, if true. I tested my Varicam LT and I'm getting around 30-50ms, when I run in 60fps VF SDI mode. But I've heard Sony Venice 1/2 have around 4 frames, which would be around 160ms. For reference at 23.98FPS 1 frame = 41.70ms. Very happy that you compared Atomos to SmallHD, because I'm thinking of getting one of those and wanted to see if it was better than Atomos and it appears so. Anyway, Just some thoughts. Thanks again for doing the test.

This premise reminded me of a documentary on Japan's prison system and how, as punishment while being held, you have to sit in the middle of a room with reading and writing materials (which are taken away if you move/stand). Honestly, things could be worse and for an introvert, it's not that bad.

Great! I would love to know your thoughts on camera placement/height of camera/various other methods of shooting comedy shows - I have recently gone on tour filming comedy and I was about 60% happy with the outcome - lots of unknowns to contend with
@HugoWill3 ай бұрын
that very depends on a venue, the show itself and amount of cameras. but each camera has to support another. but as generic setup is two in the middle (wide and close), two on sides (closeups-medium), and then optionally camera on stage, camera behind, roaming camera and etc.

Hey I have the 6k version but wanted to know what codec do you use most for gigs. When I rented a 4D raw was unlocked but it was long converting 4tB of footage just to use Davinci resolve. But now I have my own I’m thinking if I need it. As I would rather use the money to get the flex and more gear.
@HugoWill3 ай бұрын
@@patrickbaitmen9290 I don’t shoot raw at all since I use Davinci. I use a lot ProRes hq. When I use it on movies I shoot at 4444. And for long format recording like events or social media I use h264.

bro your comparing the 8k to 6k and have no examples lol chilll.................
@PhillGraaf3 ай бұрын
Agree on your wish list! More codecs and aspect ratios would be great, also in the 8k. I decided to go for the 8k, even though I will probably not use 8k resolution at this point in my career because of limited computer specs and hard drive space, but considering that the price difference isn’t that big when you add a few accessories to the kit like the 17-28, ssd etc. and the improvements with the OPLF filter, the DR expansion mode, no crop in 4K 120p and improved rolling shutter in normal mode made me go for the 8k. Great video!! Would love to see more of you with this camera.
@jeansebastienlegerАй бұрын
In my country (Belgium), there's a huge price difference… 😅 It’s almost twice the price.. (6k: 6598€ - 8k: 11999€).
@retlwiz3 ай бұрын
I suspected this camera was better than the 8k and you are confirming it. Who needs 8k really and the storage is horrendous. A lot of corporate clients barely manage with 4k, especially when it comes to sending footage by internet. I love that 4th axis stabilisation and ding know why it hasn’t taken off more. If they made a lighter version that would be great.
@BRobin20232 ай бұрын
How was it confirmed when he showed no 8k images. Even the 8k down samples into 4k gives a better image and color science then the 6k. The dynamic range and boost is better an has better lowlight an olpf. So once again how did he confirm the 8k is better also the 8k grain is barely existent at dual iso
