Carpathia was such an oddball from a designer’s perspective. Ivernia and Saxonia worked fine, so I’ll never understand why they wanted to make a shrunken version

Wanted to have a more cargo-focused liner I suppose, but they backtracked on this later and removed all her cattle spaces in favor of more third class cabins. And the addition of first class of course

How on earth do you figure out the hull form of all theses ships? Looking into it for ships in real life, it's so complicated and I have been unable to figure out how to design them? I'm currently designing a ship for a survival world but I can't for the life of me seem to recreate the curves that are found on the bow and stern of real ships. I'm going for a Normandie looking Ocean liner look. Do you just eye ball it? Do you look look at the blueprints for the ship you're going to make? Do you use maths to figure it out? Are you a naval architect so this stuff is second nature? Are the mods/tools you use? I just don't get it...and it frustrates me. I've been working this for about 2 weeks and the best I have is a stupid side profile view on graph/grid paper. Ay help would be much apricated.

I use deck plans in combination with line plans, I take them and put them into a paint program, convert them so that each pixel represents a block, puts them into the game and then I have the general outline of the hull. After that I basically just have to fill the spaces between the lines in

Thankyou for that critical insight! What a smart way to figure it out. I didn't even think to use the line plans/hull plans I had been looking at for hours upon end, put them into another program and make make a guide to work off of. You have my full respect and admiration for your talents. Both technically and artistically. I attempted to casually throw myself into the complex engineering of ship design, drag coefficients etc, and take what i could learn from it to design my own line/hull plans. Then translate that into Minecraft All I have learnt is that I am as thick as sh*t, and that I lack common sense to simply use other tools. I used to be like you when I was younger, say 11-13. I loved all things ships and I loved all things Minecraft. Now I am 25, a university drop out with worthless art diplomas who finds it difficult to learn and understand anything these days. Keep on nurturing your talents and skills, and transfer them to onto other things if haven't already. I for one think you are quite brilliant.

@@Bruche-mk1xt?. As in over complementary? What can I say? I'm impressed by his work, and it resonates with my past interests. It's like if one once aspired to be a musician, then on the road tawords it you reach your peak sooner than expected. You fall out of love with it for a while. Then later you see someone else who is able to push beyond where you got to. I guess that's how I see Rilhon's work.
