Sehr schön gespielt! Als ambitionierter Hobbykontrabassist weiß ich, wie anspruchsvoll das Konzert ist, sie spielen es mit einer Leichtigkeit, die bemerkenswert ist. Ihr Instrument hat im übrigen einen schönen weichen, warmen Ton, auch in den hohen Lagen. Eine Freude, Ihnen zuzuhören.

Nur weil Sie sagen, dieses Konzert sei anspruchsvoll, wird die Mentalität des Bassisten im Vergleich zu jedem anderen Streichinstrument um 200 Jahre zurückgeworfen. Im besten Fall klingt diese Komposition wie ein Kinderkonzert, das dem Kontrabass als Soloinstrument keinerlei Bedeutung beimisst. lächerliches Stück.

as someone who uses overhand bowhold on upright bass, are there any advantages you've seen in underhand bowhold?

Well, I have written a thesis on different bows and bow holds, you can check it out on Academia www.academia.edu/112860391/Comparaison_entre_les_diff%C3%A9rents_types_d_archets_de_contrebasse_de_la_p%C3%A9riode_classique_%C3%A0_la_p%C3%A9riode_moderne The short answer is : spiccato is more comfortable and natural, sound can be more powerful due to the angle of the elbow and thus the projection is a bit better. In conclusion the underhand (German) bowhold is in my opinion better suited for orchestra.

Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf would have been proud to listen to his Concerto performed so fluidly and elegantly on a 5-string. 🖐🎻👏And he would have appreciated the distinctive musicality of the Romanian double bass school, with which he first interacted in 1764, when he became Kapellmeister in Oradea, Romania. 🎻💙💛❤
