Thank you sir! It has now ran a 10.59 @ 126.27 with the same engine. But now days it runs those times in street trim, ie ...with DOT approved Drag Radials and through the mufflers just the way it is driven in off the street and onto the racetrack. Slow by todays standards though..with all the boosted cars running around.

@@gregelzea6070 10.59 is really fast. You must be making 600hp. My 69 firebird street car runs 11:30s. Id love to know your combo.

I watched this video a few years ago and loved it! Brought back memories of my high school days in the '90s running my (much slower) cars at Scribner, Ne. My wife has a '67 Firebird her dad gave us in '06 that I am hoping to have back on the road by fall, can't wait to run it at our drag strip!

Way to go stud! I stopped by to watch your day at the track video. I put my motorcycle, and a bunch of other stuff on Craig's List. All of the proceeds are going into my 455 build. Take care...

Hi John, your dad and i never raced each other, but we were acquainted of course; being that we were Pontiac guys. I ported a set of heads for him once that were for one of his customers and I think they ended up on his financial partner's (Dennis Blazona ??) 69 Firebird race car. The tunnel ram manifold I am running in this video was your dad's Doug Nash/ Warrior manifold that I borrowed from him hoping for that extra bit of power from somewhere to break into the 10s as I was nearly cracking 10s with a single 800 Holley atop a old Edelbrock Torker running 11.00. I would like to visit your dad if he is still around...I have a framed picture of his car that he would like to have back... he gave them to me for purpose of putting on a website I was making. I will check back here in hopes you can tell me how he is and where I can visit him

Fuck thats a fast Firebird. ( fast, any car) What wrong with Uncle Bobs heads? You're shaking down that strip like a skyrocket wit 10's very consistent for 3 runs @ 124 MPH . In TEN seconds hitin 124mph in a veteran streetcar. Only Funny cars were doing it that fast in 1968. Here's a pat on the back buddy ! Awe inspiring stuff.

Randall Wyatt the car has returned to the drag strip. Ran 11.27 @ 120.53 through mufflers on street tires on its first pass......just the way I drove in off of the street.....naturally aspirated. Striving to beat the old time of 10.87 @ 124.83 that it ran in 1987 with slicks and open exhaust., but this time in street trim ...i.e. with mufflers and street tires

i love this video, classic street machines with raw power owned by young guys, fat tires in the back, driven to and from the strip, true muscle cars, no one cared about #s matching, im 26 and i try to live everyday like the older guys glory days, my white shirt, muscle car and a bruce springsteen album and im good to go!
