I've been wanting to add a similar privacy film to my door. What does this look like from the outside? Can you see the pattern or does it just look like solid silver?
@hairypotato4241
@hairypotato4241 18 күн бұрын
This one in particular is just rainbow semi-transparent, so when you look at it close up you see the pattern and then you can also see in through the pattern - so it isn't really blocking the view to inside - if you wanted one that did I would guess the 2 way mirror film (like the one with silver on the back) would make it so people couldn't see in. I don't have that one though.

I added a personalized license plate with the baby’s name on the back instead of the basket for my grandson a few years ago. Turned out beautiful. I did a Harley Davidson theme. I am now expecting a granddaughter so I am going to add the basket and a homemade plate with my granddaughter’s name out of scrapbooking paper.

At about 7:40 you mention having the tools tab on your canvas while you're painting. It can be handy to keep it there, but I find it a bit distracting sometimes. Clicking the X on the tool tab takes it off the canvas and docks in on the left side. It's still easy enough to open it again. I like to dock it when I'm working with one brush tool, such as when I'm blending and want to see my whole canvas. I do really like the way you're demonstrating what can be done with this app, and how freely you can paint with it. Oh, and the chill background music is a nice vibe for painting. This spot where I paused the video to type a comment (7:50) has some nice happy accidents. The little spots of white on the island on the right make me think of lights from houses in the distance; nice, comfy homes on a beautiful island. You aren't done painting yet, but it's already art to me.

That is a bad choice for wet areas. It is acrylic. Not silicone As a professional caulker we never use acrylic for anything but paint prep. It is a low quality sealant. Never use a wet finger it shortens the life expectancy of the sealant significantly. Every quality manufacturer says to dry tool. And they say it for a reason. Of course when you use acrylic it really doesn’t matter because it will always fail,prematurely.

After calking spray water or water with a drop of dish soap on both the backsplash and counter top, then spray your finger and smooth out the calk in about 5” strokes, then wipe your finger clean, then respray you finger and continue. Repeat until the desired width of calk you like.😊 When you don’t use water the width of the calk can spread too wide on both the backsplash and counter.

How has this held up? My tile installer had filled that area in with grout and it cracked within a year. I cleaned that all out and bought an expensive silicone filler that said it was for kitchen and bath, I think Kwik-Seal and it cracked within a year. It looks awful. I recently read the area between tile and a countertop should be filled with sanded caulk like you’re using, so I’m getting ready to clean out all the old silicone and do this, but curious how it’s held up for you after a couple years.
@hairypotato4241
@hairypotato4241 2 жыл бұрын
Really good question - at this time (3 years later) it has sadly cracked apart in areas that get extremely wet (behind the sink). However, it wasn't so onerous that I won't do it again (I think I still have the sanded caulk but not sure if it's still good) --- I will update you on if the sanded caulk is still viable when I find it.

@@hairypotato4241it has cracked because it is not silicone. It is siliconized acrylic,a very low quality sealant. 2:14 Use 100% silicone.

Hi, I love the bracelet you're making. Elastic Magic is the best cord that I've found for doing this. And I think it comes in black as well as clear. One tip I'd like to pass on is: buy or find as many little bowls as you can to put your beads into. I've got lots of pretty little bowls from thrift stores and from friends and neighbours who know I make jewelry, and so they give me any little ceramic bowls they don't need any more.The sort of bowls I mean are the kind you use for soy sauce, or to put trinkets into. It's a real game changer when you have these! Also, I wanted to mention that it's fine to use jewelry glue, even if it's a bit smelly, because the smell should go away when the glue is dry. I use different glue for different purposes and the ones I like are E6000 Jewelry Glue, Zap Jewelry Glue and G.S. Hypo Cement, which is my favourite because it has a long thin tip, so you can place the glue exactly where you want it to go. Love from Amanda in Australia xox
