At 05:30, the formula for the triangle waveform is incorrect. It should not be "square root" but "square". The correct formula is: 1/harmo-index^2

Excellent, I keep meaning to make something like this and haven't learnt enough Pd yet! Guessing it's basically granular, did you use delread/delwrite, or something else? Adding some pitch shift with octaves up/down would be cool too, cheers.
@SoundCodex6 күн бұрын
Thanks, keep learning Pd, it's a fantastic programming language! Let's say it's a delay that winks at granular synthesis 😂 That's right, like any delay it builds on delwrite~ and delread4~, plus the internal randomized algorithm to generate delay times, reading positions on the buffer etc... Using the speed control you can slow the playback and get the typical half-speed sound.

@SoundCodex18 күн бұрын
Hey, that's a good question, I'll make a video about it, thanks for the suggestion! Anyway, you can use [notecanvas] in "rec" mode and then use its function called “save midi”. Alternatively you can send the midi notes to [midioutput] and send them into your sound card (if it has midi I/O), in this way you can record them straight into your daw.

@@SoundCodex I think bespoke one of the most versatile DAWs. A while ago I tried to make a prototype similar to Serato Sample to cut samples in real time, my small but not discouraging disappointment was when I discovered that the sample cues were not very precise. Have you been able to verify this? I know it doesn't have a grid but there must be some way to achieve precision when triggering the samples

Can you elaborate briefly on how you got the numbers for the harmonic amplitudes?
@SoundCodexАй бұрын
Of course, the higher the harmonic index the lower the amplitude. The relationship between harmonics and amplitude is determined, for each type of waveform, by specific mathematical formulas. I suggest you take a look at this old video I made on the subject: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYiTamVqjLyipqs
