Is the WWF fit for purpose after presiding over nothing but wildlife declines and seems mostly known for driving around poor countries in expensive new white vehicles with stickers on ?

Your analogy with acid mine drainage was possibly incorrect. Acid mine drainage is often caused by the biological oxidation of metal sulfides producing H2SO4 leaching iron often as Fe++ (FERROUS), which is soluble and becomes ferric (fe+++) from O2 in the river that forms Fe(OH)3 hydrate (rust red). Permafrost melting is often a highly organic environment with highly reducing conditions and low ORP where even methane generation is possible. The ferric compounds in the soil will be reduced to ferrous and become soluble. The process doesn't require a lot of sulfur and forming metal sulfides that are then converted into sulfates. The difference will show up as a very low pH (< 6) in the water and no methane with acid mine drainage. Permafrost melting without sulfides + O2 will result in a small decreased pH (caused by high CO2) with some methane in the water and often major low O2 problems. In either case, the water will become red.

I have a quick question: Where would I be able to obtain audio data of acoustic monitoring of Sperm Whales? There has to be tons of hours of passive, alone. Where can I obtain it? I just want to be able to listen myself. The clips and soundbites are just not enough for my curiosity. I am not sure what to type into a search engine. I would share if given permission, but I'd keep it to myself if not 🤣.

The thing is , most of the bravest people I ever met in my life are incredibly stupid. Stupidity and bravery go hand in hand. Sarcastically enough , one of the slides says "when you fail, you try and try again" , it doesn't tell what to try when a pressure hull fails.

When I lived in Costa Rica I had bats come in my house. Some wanted to sleep there during the day and some wanted my fresh fruits, especially bananas. If I left out fruit they would come in the windows at night and eat it. What a pain. They made a nasty mess when they roosted in the house so I made them either leave or... leave. 😂

Hi! I have a very important reason I'm trying to get a hold of Dr. Erica Caden. The ways to contact her that you posted have nothing to do with physics but are connected to the oceans. The reason I'm trying to get a hold of her is because I would like her opinion on my unified field theory formula. Yes it unifies relativity and quantum mechanics in case you're curious. I have finished enough of it. So I would like to get some professional private feedback and she is considered one of the top particle physicists in Canada. I don't really want other people at Snolab looking at the formula that's why I'm not trying to send it to her through them. I don't want to contact those pages on the various sites that they have nothing to do with her. I am following both of those pages on X and Instagram but I want to know if she is connected to them because I want to send her the formula. Since you did this video interviewing her I figured I would talk to you about it and maybe you can help me out. If it is her X and Instagram then please let me know and thank you for your help. John

Hi Dr Adam Sirek. I have been sober for 2 years. I put 15 years in the Canadian armed forces. You thought it was wise to take my drivers license away 2 months prior to releasing. Your decision impacted my mental and physical health in a very negative way. I have no criminal record however you managed to flex your skills against me and bullied me to ruin my life. I have no more money because I can't drive or find a new job. You can fool children and go to another planet and you deserve to freeze on Mars or the moon. You were probably bullied In elementary school and take it out on other people now. No one likes you.

On one hand I agree. On the other - adventurous people always will be exploring and ignoring safety risks; that makes life worth living for them. Still, it seems that she went into this blindly (26:57 in the video) as we've seen many wealthy but detached-from-reality people do. I've known a few people like her, and it is sheer dumb luck that they've got through the predicaments they put themselves into. I imagine many of the deaths from bears and mountain lions are these same people going out wholly unprepared for the reality of the threats to their lives.

Thank you for this, it's been a while that I haven't come across something so interesting. Julie presented Engineering as a whole, in a pretty simple yet outstanding manner! My number one driving factor from the time I was a little kid, to the time I was in college for Electronics Engineering and until now that I'm working as an Engineer, was curiosity! Embrace your "childlike" curiosity on how this works or why that happens and you'll become a great Engineer one day! I believe kids are all little engineers, scientists without them knowing so! As Carl Sagan quoted "It would be great for the human species to be less discouragement and more scientists". (refering to kids' curiosity discouraged by adults).
