Its a South African Production. I couldn't be more proud of what my country produced. Im so much in awe of this series 😭😭😍😍 The production is on another level 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Ive just finished watching season 2 and all I can say is......"OMG"...."WOW"... "INCREDIBLE" and "INSANE". Yes art is something that needs a shoulder to sit on. So yes, there may be some inspirations, we can see same in all Hollywood movies as they progressed they use previous movies as base. If we look at marvel they took inspiration from starwars, not to emntion spiderman series. Now dune might have taken inspiration from madmax etc. This movie started shooting before dune. But still I see many elements that are completely unique. And that is a great feat considering first Indian movie of sci-fi. Nevertheless, story is completely based off India and Hinduism and that dystopian setting everything as per scriptures.

This film is base on hindu theology. According to hindus there four yugas that is the whole eternity is divided into 4 yugas currently we are in the last that is 4th yuga (kali yuga). It is said in hindu theology in the 4th yuga when there is bad and evil deeds are happening every where and there is big scarcity of food and water and evil deeds are rampant then the god Vishnu will descend to earth as man named Kalki who will be born in shambal and he will kill all the evil doers and brings the balance to the world. And then the 1st yuga will start again. This is cycle and it keeps repeating over and over again.
