Hello! Wanted to check what was the arrangement for your luggage? It says online that baggage forwarding service is not available at Ogizawa, so was wondering if you all held on to your luggage the whole way? Thanks so much

We stayed in Nagano for 2 nights, so our luggage was in our hotel near Nagano station. We just went to Tateyama Kurobe Alpine route on day trip :) Went back to our hotel around night time, maybe 6pm.

We went there early May and the temperature there in the Alps it was 6 to 10 Degrees Celcius. It was sunny so it was not super cold. We wore a heatech, fleece and a windproof warm jacket.

@@rdb_intothewild thank you for advice. so do u think i need winter jacket? or just layering will do? e.g. 1 heat tech (extreme) + 1 sweater + 1 thick wool jacket? I am not so keen to bring winter jacket just for 1 attraction. please advice.

Oh my gosh you are amazing thank you! I had been all over Google and KZbin looking for a detailed guide like yours. Most are fairly confusing at times. Thanks for providing step by step directions. How do we get a booklet to get stamped? Also we want to go to the amasake tea house after all you mentioned, is that possible on one day plus possible hot spring too? What time is best to leave Tokyo? Thanks again so much. This is perfect and honestly took a lot of anxiety off for me. We are going June 2024
@rdb_intothewild3 ай бұрын
Hi there, thank you for watching my video. For the booklet, I just bought a simple blank notebook from a stationary shop. If you are doing a day trip, it best to take the earliest train sched to Hakone. I recommend staying a night in Hakone so you can do the hot spring and the Amasake Tea House :)

Thanks for the great summary. I am planning to go at the end of April. I saw your comment that the snow wall can be explored on foot at a designated time. Would you happen to know what time it is? How much time do you think we need to spend at Murudo? I am afraid we might missed the last bus that leaves Murodo.

Thanks for watching my video. I’ve read that the snow wall opening hour is 9:30am until 3pm. We explored Murodo for 2 hours. Maybe you can give 1 hour for the wall and 1 hour for the lake area :) We made sure to make it to the bus area by 3pm.

@@rdb_intothewild thanks for the quick reply.we are planning to catch the first bus from nagano at 815am. I guess we will spend less time at the dam and kurobedaira. Just afraid the waiting time for cable car/ropeway/bus might be long due to the crowd.

@@rdb_intothewild may I also check the waiting time at each station? I'm going to Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route on 23 April (Tues) I will be taking 6am shinkansen from Tokyo to nagano to catch the 815am bus from nagano to ogizawa, arriving at 10am. This is the earliest bus from nagano. I have just booked the alpine route ticket from ogizawa to Toyama 1030am. I wonder the waiting time at each station is it very long? I saw some station only has one bus/cable car in every 20 mins. Afraid if too many ppl I might need to wait for hours for the next bus/cable car then I might missed the last bus departing murodo.
@rdb_intothewild4 ай бұрын
@@davidlim6509 In our experience last year, the waiting time is not that long. There are station that you will not really need to wait, there are station that you will only need to wait for 3mins and longest waiting is 10mins. I guess it will depend on the number of tourists/visitors.

Thank you so much for the video! We are planning on traveling the Alpine route at the end of May 2024 starting from Ogizawa to Tateyama. Looking at the current schedule which is posted for November, it has the last train leaving Murodo to Bijodaira at 3:30 pm. Do you know if there are later departure times in May? Also, what time do suggest leaving Ogizawa to avoid long lines? I'm really concerned that with the long lines at each station we may miss the last bus leaving from Murodo.
