Para quem não conhecia, é notóriamente superior aos de Chaplin, que tinha o costume ridículo de chutes no traseiro...

This movie is notable both because it is the first film appearance by Buster Keaton, and because it is one of the relatively few surviving Fatty Arbuckle films. In addition to the fact that the majority of all films from the silent era are now lost, most copies of Arbuckle’s pictures were deliberately destroyed following the scandal of 1921-22. Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle was charged with raping, and causing the death of, an actress named Virginia Rappe. He endured three trials, the first two resulting in hung juries and the last in a unanimous acquittal. The third jury also took the extremely rare step of writing a public letter of apology for the way the justice system had treated Arbuckle. Even though he was acquitted (and, indeed, seems to have been quite innocent), theaters didn’t want to show his movies after all the bad publicity. “The Butcher Boy” was thought lost, but a copy of it was found in Europe many years later.

I saw this stuff occasionally in matinees growing up in the 1970s but not much. Disney had it all by then. I can't believe the clear look into this old era, only 100 years ago. Imagine having film from 1000 years ago. Someday, humans will, if we survive.

My name is the first one listed on "Special Thanks." I accidentally discovered the pictures from "My Wife's Relations" and didn't realize David B. Pearson would use them on this mini-documentary. :)

This movie was made at the same time as Police Story. It was filmed during the day and Police Story was filmed at night. Jackie was burning the candle at both ends and at one point and was working on this movie while severely injured from the pole slide stunt received the night before on the Police Story set. The guy was in pain and exhausted while making this movie.
