Abiraterone is wonderful stuff for those of us with prostate cancer. Such a shame that currently it is not available on the NHS due to its high cost. Or should the shame be on the makers of this product for charging such a high price for it. I believe that generic versions cost only a third as much.

I got diagnosed with ALL leukemia on December 2022 and i remember that I could not walk or eat because I would throw up and it was hard for me to breathe because all my organs were enlarged. My parents hey found out by going to my friends house and a pediatrician came and checked me and told me that my appendices needed to come out but he told me that so I would not worry and told my dad that I actually had cancer. When I got to the hospital my dad had to carry me to the hospital because I was unable to walk any more and I got in with extreme pain in my legs and crying telling my parents that I will be ok. I don’t remember much but only saying crazy things and having a fire fight because they put a air tight rap around me and I thrived to fight the doctors off but they knocked me out with medication and they put me on heavy medication but my parents told me that they were trying to put a line in my neck to get medication to me quick but they could not so they were in my arm. Shortly after they found out that the cancer was curable and they got my body under control and brought me to a room and then they explained to me what I had and I thought that I was going to die but my parents told me that it is under control now and I stayed there for weeks unable to walk and get lumbar punctures and being bored. Then I got home and slept in my bed again and saw my dog, sister, and brothers and went to bed. Shortly after I got a port a cath and I was stressed before the surgery to put it in and after that treatment was hard but as I got through it I got stronger and felt more and more normal. To this day I and still going through treatment and learning so much about the blood and cancer that my doctor is impressed now but to people who have it or in a big challenge with stress or life, remember there is always light as you go through life, cherish it and enjoy it, but when there it bad things in life work your way around it will people you know and love and they will help you though it.

1 in 2000 seems high to me. My wife is still breastfeeding at 14 months, she plans to breast feed till he is 2 years of age. He eats meat, fish, eggs or raw dairy with every meal plus small amounts of veg/fruit. Everything is cooked in lard, tallow, duck fat or butter. We also give him cod liver oil twice a week. I wish i could afford all his food to be organic but i cant afford this. He has had no medical interventions, he is smart, happy and robust.

I follow Weston Price type diet as well and am still breastfeeding my 2.5 yr old whom also has had no medical interventions. However, at 17 mos he was diagnosed with ALL despite a very healthy lifestyle. There are so many things in our environment these days and we can't avoid them. It is scary when you try so hard to create a healthy lifestyle yet these things still happen. I believe his good diet and care has helped him though, as he is doing very well through treatment (which is 2.5 years for leukemia). It is still worth the effort to supply a natural, healthy upbringing. Keep feeding your baby well and getting him those healthy fats and tell him everyday how much you love him! Take care!

I’ve been taking it now for around 11 weeks. I wish I could say positive things about all the anti testosterone treatments, it’s not fun at all. I’ve lost muscle mass, energy, concentration and confidence. The constant brain fog makes me feel like I’m getting dementia. I’m told I need to be on this along with Lupron for 21 months more. Not sure I want to continue with these treatments just to get maybe 5 more years.

My intro : I have metastatic breast cancer, Liver and bones, Er+, PR+ Her2-. I am a 55-year-old mother of 4 kids and post-menopause. Condition: No physical pains, Feeling normal but weak. Eating normally. I've been on a regimen of Palbociclib and Letrozole for the past 19 days, and recently, I received my CA153 test results. Last month, before starting the Palbociclib and Letrozole treatment, my CA153 level was recorded at 137. However, today, my most recent test indicates an elevation of CA153 =267. Platelets low to 159 WBC 2.9 HB 10. Before that, I had 15 weekly Taxol (paclitaxel) sessions. Until 12 sessions, CA153 decreased to 83 but again started rising to 137, so the Doctor prescribed Palbo + Letrozol. Started pacli from 142 CA 153. So can you please provide your experience? Does Palbociclib and Letrozole take longer to work? Should I give more time to see its result ?
