I was there on the 23rd and I think I have watched your recording about 20 times. What ever mic you have worked superbly. Thanks for posting there are so many subtle nuances that you forget about because the song is over so quickly.

No John Oates as both guys saw each other enough in court recently... Elvis Costello played before Daryl and that was quite a sad sight.... either he's tone deaf or sang purposely out of tune. I'm sure there's a couple videos around of his gig.

Maybe I'm missing it in all the videos and updates...but is the mattress pad comfortable? I am not finding anyone directly addressing that. I have the Roadloft for my SUV and love it, but didn't purchase the pad because it was very expensive and I had nothing to go on. I'm still hesitant to purchase.

Thanks for bringing it up! Yes, I did get this question a couple of times and to be honest, we're adding a rather thin duvet to the large mattress and a thin microfiber blanket to the small one. The mattress by itself is not quite supportive and that's for us relative light weights (5'8", 175 lbs for me and 5'3", 160 lbs for my better half). What is your current setup? Maybe something I will learn from your experience as well! I just uploaded this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6TFgISVqtVribs

Sorry but those leather seats would be a deal breaker, Cold in the winter and hot in the summer. My son in law has leather seats in his car, and every time I ride with him I just hate the way they feel. Maybe if you live in a warm weather state and keep your car in a garage they might be ok.
@RuudNoordzij

I was expecting the worst as well, especially at home in Southern California, but thanks to the heavy tint on the windows and the upright built the interior and seats typically stay quite cool… yes, parked outside in the summer heat is a different story. However, the third row is removed and second row stowed away when we’re out and about. I drive a Honda as commuter car but the cloth upholstery feels stickier on a hot day…. And no, the window tint is just the factory one so not much.

Totally agree! If you'd want to have a bit of a sharper ride, the Grand Caravan GT is the best pick. I kind of wish we purchased a GT in 2021 but all of the available ones had a lot of miles or were far away.

I saw someone else store everything in the van. They stack mattresses at very back and put the bench on top of the center piece behind 2nd row seats. Good solution if you are already on the road.
@RuudNoordzij
@RuudNoordzij Жыл бұрын
Exactly! I did the same thing when we were picking up friends for an event after our camping trip.... The bench is heavy enough, it doesn't slide and sits right behind the second row seats: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKGsY32fr8popdk

Thanks for the videos, Ruud. I have been thinking about getting the RoadLoft and this helped quite a bit. One question: what did you think of the mattress? I have been skeptical regarding its comfort as it is only 2 1/2 inches thick.
@RuudNoordzij
@RuudNoordzij Жыл бұрын
Thanks Kevin, appreciate it... mattresses are surprisingly firm despite the 2.5 inch thickness.... however, we do use thin blankets on top to make everything feel a bit warmer (and tine size fitted sheets to hold everything together). Main reason for the mattresses being this thin is that it should be fairly easy fold them in order to access the areas underneath or to create the bench. Hope this helps!

Is a 6’0” tall person able to set completely up right at the desk?
@RuudNoordzij
@RuudNoordzij Жыл бұрын
It may be tight when the cushions are left on.... ours have an additional blanket folded inside a fitted sheet that's wrapped around the same cushion. I'm 5'8" and can sit comfortably on the bench without hitting the headliner. However, our Town & Country has the DVD system and additional overhead storage which makes sitting in the center of the minivan more difficult, unless you're shorter than say 5'2" or so. Hope this helps!
