Alien 3 is my favorite & the most realistic because it's the only one that doesn't feel Hollywood at all , its unapologetic just like real life & the acting is more realistic & its the most brutal & most realisticly graphic of all the films in the entire series, & anyone else can go suck a d*ck if u think its anything less than a misunderstood masterpiece!!!! The original trilogy is all tied at 1# for me because i love them all equally for separate reasons & they are all completely different genres but still keep the same template over all without being too much alike!!! Perfect trilogy ❤ Alien Covenant is my second favorite after the original trilogy Prometheus is third AVP is forth Alien Resurrection is fifth AVP Requiem is in last place I haven't seen the new film yet so im not rating it yet

I'm mixed on it. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. My expectations may have been too high. I just don't get going through all of the effort of trying to do as much practical in camera effects and then.... ****SPOILERS**** ...putting a deep fake CGI man in the middle of the film. I don't have any strong opinions about the morality of deep faking a deceased actor's likeness either way. Visually it just stuck out like a sore thumb when the rest of the film looks so great.

After a second viewing I think I agree. It's a good film overall. I still have the same problems but can forgive them to appreciate the aspects it gets right that are executed just about perfectly. I'd say the first half is outstanding and it kinda simmers off into...mehh, yeah ok sure that's fine.

I kinda liked the ending part of it. for me it showed how much Weyland-Yutani wanted this creature so much to the idea of doing experiments. We saw that in resurrection but that was one side of experiments. its cool to think there might have been others that failed and were lost such as Romulus. These characters were dealing with the after effects of lol hate to say it but mad scientists. but I agree with you definitely number 3 in the franchise for me as well. Definitely want to rewatch after some time to see anything that was maybe missed.

Great content............Prometheus for what it was a part of the Xeno universe is decent could have done something, but Covenant was just weird and off. Fingers crossed for Romulus can't wait. The foundation / lore is there to pull from 1979 ALIEN it can be explored and pulled from outside of the ridiculous David nonsense and my name is David LOL

I completely agree with what you're saying about where the Xenomorphs came from. I prefer thinking that they are a life form that is just out there, and hate the David storyline. Mostly agree with this list. Resurrection is bottom for me, it's dreadful in every way. I'd probably have Alien 3 above Prometheus (Loved it at first as I wanted to like it so much but over time I've gone right off it - the characters are so annoying) but yeah - Only the first two (and I hope Romulus) are truly great.

That David story totally kills the terrifying mystery of them. Agreed Resurrection is a tough watch, crossing my fingers that Romulus is up there with the first two🤞

I'm so glad Alien 3 and Promeyheus are not your last places. To be honest, I like all Alien films. I think each one adds something new and fresh to the lore. Alien 3 has introduced royal facehuggers and the DNA change ability of xenomorphs which are widely used in every Alien novel, video game, comic story, film, TV show.

At my maturity I recall the original film. This presentation is vaguely a homage to the Ridley Scott version. A bit darker color palette wise..with a younger less seasoned cast. Alverez appears to have done his homework. That closing title blocking is identical to the original. Plus the metal iris opening is from the Dallas escapade..nice. The vibe is familiar..yet promising...if handled with some imagination. Because for me...the last two were not to my liking...no offense to Fassbender. Wishing this to be a fresh start for this franchise...it deserves to have a legacy. Your overview was genuine and insightful...nice!

I hated that David created the aliens in covenant. And we never got the engineers original home world.

In the book, David just remade the aliens. I'm guessing by giving them more biomechanical features since he’s an android. I like this concept much better.

He didn't create the xenomoprhs, the engineers did. David just stole the idea and made his own. Its in the actual films. Quite obvious.

I’m exactly with you, 💯 % StarWars for me ended with the same. Why studios are obsessed with back tracking and telling originals of a story I never know, that being said I do love Prometheus and I actually do love Alien Covernant, faults as well. THIS MOVIE though!!! OMG! Yep, I feel we are getting what we want. I appreciate the newness coming from a director as opposed to to Ridley just churning it out otherwise your not doing it out of love your doing it out of necessity. I’m all over this ❤
