Not really, because they cannot fully deboard the plane from only the front stairs because of a risk of tail tipping. So they have to wait for the rear stairs to be attached. But at least a 1/2 minutes profit

@Psgamer-vu2hp It’s an option on the 737 but Ryanair is one of the few airlines that have the option.

That’s not a Max 8. That’s a Max 9. Or it could be a Max 10 depending on length.

Thats definitely a 737 max 8200. So a high density 737 max 8. Google Ryanair’s fleet :))

This is Boeing 737NG old models have this kind of Air-stairs not “ stepladder “.. This kind of Air-stairs are optional ,like part of Customer requirements.. not all models of B737. Boeing 737 models are less in ground clearance then other narrow-body Aircrafts like AIRBUS A320 This kind of Air-stairs fitted B737 models using for remote sectors like privet Aerodromes operation ,Reduces ground handling cost ,etc. It’s essential not to operate the airstair under specific conditions such as high winds (above 40 knots). Those occasion we can use the normal step ladder Once Air-stair fully stowed back it will give indications and confirm from the head set staff once

Thanks for the info on not using these stairs in 40+ kt winds. As much as anything, I would think that's because cabin crew need to step across the upper section that has no hand rail, to manually pull the upper sections of the hand rail up to the aircraft. I assume the top of the hand rail gets attached to the door frame. Does it attach to a special anchor point that's only there on aircraft with this stairs option or does the top of the hand rail attach to something that's already part of the door frame on all 737s? Thanks

This is much cooler than you may think. I am currently stuck on a diverted BA plane at Stansted because the ground staff won’t attach the stairs because it’s windy. It’s been over 2 hours and no sign of movement. A Ryanair flight landed and used its own stairs and everyone embarked just fine.

The reason it was great landing is because it is an Irish airline landing in a storm with an Irish name. They both had an understanding 🙂

Any landing that gets you down safely is a good landing and, under the circumstances (watch the wing in motion!), it was a very good one.

It was, especially taking into account that the pilots need to make a positive landing in this case (a firm landing to prevent hyroplaning)

Еще раз напишу. Дурь, с моей точки зрения. Большая дурь. Лишнее место, плюс усиление на шпангоут и использование электро механики и гидравлики.это на мой взгляд

ну, он используется для того, чтобы люди могли попасть в самолет без трапа, и является огромным спасением для бюджетных авиакомпаний. (я использовал переводчик гугл)

We had those stairs years ago on the 200. No surprise. Worked great and where there were no jetways it was the only way to board Ang get our passengers to their destinations. 👍👍👍. 9-28-2023
