¡Gran canción y muy profunda! Hago aquí kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnWWf6x3dpp2naM un ANÁLISIS FILOSÓFICO de corte existencialista de esta y otras canciones, citando a pensadores de alto vuelo.

It was the bird--it had learned how to mimic the Fenrenlimoths (who would constantly argue). After they died (presumably before Charles moved in because his letter remained unmoved and unopened), the bird continued to repeat the arguments.

This is a wonderful anti war song for our time. There is a novel called "Johnny Got His Gun" by Dalton Trumbo that tells the same awful story. Hearing Martin Carthy sing it is stirring.

2021 here. Three generations of my family have been listening to Martin Carthy since the revival, my parents, me, and now my 12 year old son too. I suppose we're lucky in the UK as I've been fortunate to see him quite a few times. Hopefully NY when Covid eases.

Yes, another reason why we should avoid centralized power in Europe. Another huge federation. Another military industrial complex in the hands of chicken hawks and power mongers. People need to wake up and see what's really going on before it's too late. Stop ignoring the pattern. Start learning from history: Centralized power structures are bad for humanity, bad for the biosphere.

We had Martin Carthy performing as a guest at The Bridlington Folk Club about four years ago. He gave permission for me to video the whole performance so it could be shared with one of our members who was recovering from a stroke in hospital.

It would be far better if this beautiful song didn't have to exist. But, it seems that every generation has to write them; this could have been sung in 1919 after that barbaric butchery, or in 1819 after the Napoleonic slaughters. Probably 1719 too, some other little tiff between inbred royal cousins and their favourite bankers. I'm going to listen to it for the fifth time now. We still need a revolution, don't we ? Probably the only way to stop it.

Absolutely amazing how Sheema takes her jacket off, puts it on, takes it off, puts in on, etc., almost every time the camera moves away from her! And still playing without a pause. Absolutely amazing!

My mama told me I should never venture into space, But I did, I did, I did, She said no terran girl could trust the martian race, But I did, I did, I did. A rocket pilot aked me on a voyage to go, And I was so romantic, I couldn't say no That he was just a servo robot how was I to know? So I did, I did, I did. She told me never venture out among the asteroids But I did, I did, I did. She said the Milky Way was something to avoid So I did, I did, I did. She said that Venus was too hot and Saturn not much fun And bug-eyed monsters tended to be just a trifle dumb. She said I'd need a blaster and I'd need a freezer gun And I did, I did, I did. My mama told me never trust a space engineer But I did, I did, I did. She said freefall and superdrive would surely cost me dear And they did, they did, they did. I've been as far in hyperspace as anybody can, I've travelled through the time warp in the Psycho Plan. They say a gal must travel for to find her superman And I did, I did, I did.
