Been reading about this bike the past few months, I think I'll wait until the new chassis / engine has a year or two of the refinement before I pull the trigger. She's a beauty forsure, the kyb coil spring suspension is my fav, narrower shrouds and HYD/cable clutch is a nice touch. Yamaha keep listening to your customers they always tell ya what they want (and willing to pay for)

There's not many bikes in OEM form that do not require some type of aftermarket spend to make them more comfortable for the rider. It all depends on rider experience and comfort level on OEM equipment. As a test rider I'm looking for all possible floors and improvements that might not be the same for everyone.

How could you not be a fan of hydraulic clutches...

It's all in the rider preference. I personally like the feel of cable, having a feel I can adjust and control with free play and tension as the bike heats up. Downside is, they tend to fade more than hydro in long moto's and when hot, but you can adjust accordingly.

This is getting crazy. They complain b/c the rmz is stink biggie and needs suspension work and these bikes are now 10k+ OTD. the rmz which can be bought for about 6500 is my bike of choice for someone who just wants to rip it up outdoors and doesn't race anymore. Some minor engine massaging and a little suspension work and it's a great bike.

My current personal bike is a 2019 RMZ450 and with a few small mods including replacing the rear shock with a RMZ250 rear shock unit, basic valving front and rear along with pipe, ecu and motor mods, it is still a very competitive bike and a lot of fun to ride.

The Suzuki is a great bike but people love to see new features and innovation. I’ve had Suzuki’s, Yamaha and KTM and IMO there’s no bike like a Honda for fit and finish. And the price I think is very good. For example a 2010 CRF450 cost $1000 less than a 2021 CRF450.. if you take into inflation over 10years that 2010 CRF450 adjusted for inflation is $1000 more than the 2021.

Great vid! Very detailed and informative. Keep them coming! I just bought a 2021 CRF450R Works Edition in America. Dealer price was $12,389 US dollars. Would really like to get your feedback with a back to back comparison from the 450R compared to the 450RWE with the Honda Race mod's. I'm also 6' 205 pounds without gear so I will be sending my suspension out right away for spring rate changes and possibly re-valving. Also going with X-Trig clamps, Renthal twin-wall fat bars, ASV levers, Air EXT footpegs, Talon hubs, stainless spokes and A60 rims.

We haven’t heard any information on whether the 450 works edition will be released in Australia as of yet, we just got the 21’s to dealers as of November. If it’s possible for us to set up a back to back test in the future it’s something we would for sure look at producing. Thanks for the positive feedback

I have a WE.. I’d be interested to hear from anyone who’s rider both. I’ve heard people say the WE has A-kit but it’s the same suspension as the 450R but has been re-valved. Hand ported head and yoshimura exhaust must add a bit of power. I’d like to have a ride of the 450R myself to compare but the WE is a great price.

It’s still a good base but will be reliant on set up and a few mods to get it to that happy place for most riders in our opinion.
