I just went to trial one, it had 0 power, bogged down every time i tried to blow. Guy said it has to warm up. After 2 minutes maybe had a little more power but very underwhelming🤷‍♂️

I plan on getting this trimmer, but the one with the pro series attachments. I'm replacing my Hyper Tough trimmer that fell off of the wall. I got that thing on sale for 60 bucks a couple years ago and it was a great trimmer. The only thing wrong with it was that it fell off of the wall. It was no fault of the trimmer, only the dumb owner. 🥴😑

I just bought one the other day, the line that comes with it is the Echo string Cross Fire 0.95. I recently bought the Black Diamond 0.95. It does give a better cut, the PAS-225 is a great weed eater so far in my opinion. I know a lot of people say Stihl is the best, but this does give those weed eaters a run for it's money. For it to be a 21.2CC engine. it does a great job.

On my second one after the muffler came apart internally and they warranted a new machine? The replacement is making the same buzzing like the first one at idle just like yours, I wonder if this one will fail soon? Next one will be an Echo 😅. I know the power is there for less money but if it only last 2 years whats the sense. Also found that the original one was melting the blower impeller so it’s just cheap garbage. No more Ryobi for me!

I got suckered by the advertised high cfm, but in actual use, it felt significantly weaker than the mid level Husqvarna I've been borrowing. I should have been clued in by the low cc rating. I hate returning anything . . . but this simply was not powerful enough to move the volume I need, so. I bit my lip, and returned it. I loved the price, but I'll have to shell out more $$$ and go with a much more powerful competitor. (As a note, the very large nozzle allows for reasonably high CFM but at a lower speed. Manufacturers are starting to go to NM, a measure of force, as the unit of measurement, to avoid this kind of confusion) That said . . . there were also some positives beyond the price. I did like the build quality, it ran smoothly, and it was reasonably quiet. For my use, I needed it to move a mountain of heavy leaves, but, If I were just using it to blow grass clipping from the sidewalk and driveway, I probably would have kept it.

Actually that's not quite true that every echo product comes with the same extras. When you buy any echo powerhead especially PAS systems that are sold without attachments you don't get any 2 cycle mix and just paperwork only. The current PAS in 2022 is the 2620 PAS which does not come with any attachments or is introduced in a combo package like the 225 which I believe at the time it was 225vp, 225b, 225sb and 225 SRM. The next upgrade PAS was the 266 that also came in the SRM which I have, my 225vp got a cracked head on the motor and is now just back up parts for both my 266 and 2620. Then there was the 280 PAS which couldn't run the curved shaft and a few other power attachments, I believe there was a 280 SRM. Currently both 266 and 280 have been discontinued by echo and replaced with the Xseries 2620t and 2620 PAS. There are no other PAS after that. They only other Xseries trimmers they have that run over 30CC engines are the 3020U and the 3020 which echo will likely not make a PAS from that engine model because it's to powerful for the older and current attachments which I believe there are 16 attachments. The gearboxes on these attachments are torqued for the 25.4 CC 2620 PAS and under. If they would decide to make a PAS out of the 3020 they'd likely have to make a whole new line of attachments that can handle the power and torque of that powerhead. I don't think echo in this current market will invest into doing this especially with governments trying to push this stupid green deal and most small engine companies are trying to over expensive and dangerous battery operated junk. I'll keep using gas equipment until I can no longer and then I'll likely buy a herd of goats to mow my yard.
