I grew up with those cars. We had a wagon with wood grain sides, a manual shift one like this and a Mercury Bobcat. Which is the same to those that don't know . I personally was embarrassed by being seen in them, but we had no money back then at all.

@ Probably a good way to go. Maybe there’s a local machine shop near you that has a water jet. They could cut them really fast.

In Maine to see if you could find any cars from that era with pictures of The King c. U. DA in it Tucker from backyard finds. On KZbin. Would love to see pictures and so would everybody else you could make a great video

Why not show the accident at Sat. Race. No one was killed and people need to be aware that accident do occur and thanks to safety of the race cars, people walk away. Just a thought.

Hi Nancy, Thanks for your comment and I do appreciate you watching my videos. You are right. Safety equipment is important because drag racing can be a dangerous sport. However, even the best equipped cars. Don’t prevent injury 100%. In my personal belief as a former racer, I think it’s unnecessary to show catastrophic accidents. There are plenty of circle track (and drag race) channels on KZbin that will do that to gain views. That’s not how I’m wired. This racer was injured and lost tens of thousands of dollars in a car that he labored over for undoubtably a long time. So there is no purpose in my showing that on my channel.
