So you wanna tell carrera gt would do a lap as fast as 918 spyder? It’s impossible, spyder has better suspension, better brakes, hybrid system giving more acceleration, Awd, auto box, active aero, lower drag, better weight distribution and the car is lower, how would à carrera gt keep with this time?

That would be too fast. I think a modern semi slick possibly made for this car specifically could shave off 10 seconds easily. Not sure about more though

@@horvathr95 Yep also saw it. Amazing. Expected 10+ but not 16. I think they didn´t use a CUp2R because even with the Cup2´s the suspension was at the limit. Quite some wobble and roll. WIth cup 2r´s especially made for the car and a modern KW V3 or so perhaps below 7 would be possible even, considering how fast it already went.

He had too, if the tire and suspension don't give you the confidence, you just have to hold back. Better alignment, cup 2 on the revised track should do very low 7. Kw with harder springs and better dampening and it should do the magic 6

First the spring the cgt had from him was a progressive rate not fixed, second cars are made shipped, run in and supposed to be re-aligned on the run in service, most never really got run in. Tires that came with cgt had no shelf life. Walter himself has said the cgt had the biggest spread of times on the nordschleife on test day (where manufacturers go to test their cars and they usually swap cars (walter drove an enzo and a murci and their drivers drove the cgt)). AA bars alone will make a night and day difference if service overlooks it and does an hard/hard you will be drifting out of every touch on the accelarator. And remember that even the cgt has a wide range of acceptable alignment values and 0 toe and 1.5 minutes alone would make wayyy too much of a change. Walter as test drivers usually do, chose damper rates and AA bar rates and front rake for steering feel, rest is driver preference

There is an old interview from Walter from 2003Euro where he says that the carrera gt beats the enzo on every track but the time Marc Basseng drove with the carrera gt is the same time Walter drove. They both drove a 7:28. When two really talented drivets drive the same time how can the carrera gt be faster than this time. Where did you hear that Walter drove the Enzo and the Ferrari drivers the carrera gt? Ferrari never drove the Enzo on Nordschleife officialy. The 7:24 from Marc Basseng 2008 was the first time

In a sim. The car took the record at topgear track. Dead stable with no body roll. The car needs to be setup for a run, and from what i've heard, this was setup for comfort. Suspension setup can make a huge difference.

On the website this car stats have stated 850 hp...but I've heard all kinds of numbers so...I can't really say for sure who's right...not even Jeremy unfortunately...he also stated that the car can break 250 mph with "even enough space"....yet everyone says it'll do 245 mph

You realize that at the time, it was the 6th fastest lap around the ring ?(removing Donkervoort and Radical which aren't street legal in most countries).

Strange because the only BMW to beat the Koenigsegg around the Nurburgring is the M4 GTS last year... Which is 10 years after the CCX did this lap. And BMW has much, much more resources to throw away in a record attempt than Christian does. To make a modern comparison, the Agera R was 6 seconds faster around Spa than the P1.
